    Where was the crack?

Check out the 92FS entry. It's been observed.

It probably got run over by a UPS forklift, I've had it happen about 5 or 6 times and unfortunately it was with guns far more expensive than a Beretta 92.

Man, that is a lot of times for them to run over packages with guns in them. Is it by accident or on pupose??? Got any idea?

Couldn't say, it was when I was with Bass Pro and it was made clear it was a "Let it go" situation. Funny thing though, almost every one was broken clean through the grip (all long guns) with little to no addition damage to the rest of the gun and often with no signs of damage to the hard cases they were in.

I still have my original service pistol from 89, have thousands of rounds through it and its solid. I have had to replace the springs and rod a few times, and have avoided that problem so far. Beretta's are fine pistols, but have their problems like cracked slides from excessive use of +p+ ammo. Change to a heavier guide rod and springs though and they run like a top. I never heard of any recall, but I bought mine a long time ago.

They had teams of armorer's and gunsmiths in Afghanistan rebuilding the M-9s and stateside called "Reset" teams. They told me especially the ones fired a lot with NATO spec 9mm by the SF and some others had problems with cracks.

All guns eventually went through Reset, from M-4s, M2 .50 cal, SAWs to shotguns.
