Folks coming to the 2017 shoot at Jerry's...

If you have anything you don't want, and have the room, why not pack it up and we'll have us an unofficial "swap meet"

Jerry okayed the idea and I ran it by one mod, and since it doesn't involve the forum and is face to face, it's all good

Having a single 1911 mag pouch and a pocket holster that I despise is what made me think of it.

Several years back, I had posted a thread about doing this and it kept disappearing. I thought that I was doing something wrong while writing it and after about the third time that I rewrote it, Marshall Dan notified me that he was deleting it because it was against the rules.:guns: Dang he was strict.

If I drive this year then count me in! I have all sorts of stuff (mainly holsters and AR parts) that need to go to somebody who will use them.

Sounds like a winner to me! Anybody know a place that rents out dump trucks cheap? :tooth:

I'm sure that if you poked around in the woods on his place you could probably find one.:jester:

We need one thread for this, how about one of the moderators make this the official shoot thread and make it a sticky as well, please.

It's a little early for a "get together" sticky, IMO.

I just wanted folks to have time to locate stuff. I know stuff I don't use or like, has a tendency to get "put back" somewhere and occasionally forgotten about

I just scored eight- - - -count 'em- - - -brand new Remington stocks for their Savage-clone rifle. Don't remember the number, but it's the one with the detachable mag, the barrel nut and the accu-trigger type system. More goodies on the way tomorrow- - -1911 fitted cases, and a few other surplus items the factory is offering to employees at fire sale prices! Having a SIL working there has its advantages!

I95, to i84 to i81 to knoxville. I 75 towards Chattanooga and TennMike can navigate you from there.

    So come on down

Faster to take I-40 West at Knoxville and then pick up the 840 Nashville Bypass loop to I-65 South outside Nashville. Put you in rock throwing distance of Jerry's and the Ho-tel! :tooth:
I take I-75 North and pick up I-40 West and then the Bypass to I-65. It's a bit longer route for me, but about 1 1/2 hours FASTER! I like faster.

Mike, if you turn south at Cookeville and go through Sparta, McMinnville, Tullahoma, Manchester, etc. you'll end up in Fayetteville. It's several miles shorter than any other route I've taken when I help with my mother's care in Knoxville, and 4-lane almost all the way.

    Mine will be there also.

As for stuff, I was looking for a holster I know I have somewhere and already started a box with stuff I forgot I had

Good idea. I stuck it. Saves a lot of postage on stuff that might otherwise mold away in the basement.

It's a family event, quite a few of us bring wives and kids. Mine shoots for awhile and then hangs out with the apron ladies. Last year she was even awarded an apron.

Ditto to Steve's comment- - - - -the shoot just wouldn't be the same without the ladies and kids. Some ladies shoot the guns, others shoot the bull at the house, and some explore the neighborhood. One helpful little lady over at Bee Spring church gave one of our gals a little good advice- - - -"Be careful where you drive, honey- - - -somebody's shootin' a cannon just over the hill yonder!"
    :rotflmao:

Here's a special word of thanks to all the ladies who help prepare the house for lunchtime- - - -Mary is very grateful for all you do, as am I!

I'm still in a holding pattern, guys. My name is on the VML (Vulnerable to Move List), so I am all but assured to by moving in the Summer move cycle. The question remains: when do I have to report to my next duty station? The Air Force Personnel Center is taking its sweet time letting us know that info. Until I know, I can't make any plans to come to the SE shoot because my stuff might be packed and on a truck when it happens.
Accuracy: because white space between bullet holes drives me insane.

All you gotta bring is yourself, there's no requirement to bring anything anyway and there's always plenty of guns to shoot.

When is it and where, exactly, and where is a place to stay? I might mosey up there this year. Got lots of trading gear, which I hate to get rid of; I'm a hoarder. You can never tell...as soon as I get rid of something, a week later I need it.
