Counting moose

Hi all!

I spent my saturday in the woods with my father. We were searching and counting moose and deer tracks. Counting is used as a reference for the next seasons hunting permits here and every hunting club makes it in their hunting area every spring. After the job we rewarded ourselves with some sausage by the fire. Great day.

How many acres do you have to cover?

Nothing is as quiet as a woodland winter day.

So that is what winter looks like ... it's freakin' 76° here and the damn trees are budding out.

I used to ride Honda's Blackbird for almost a decade. It kinda sticked :) Besides I love the blackbirds song on early spring mornings.

When we started our walk this morning it was a nice crispy 14 deg F :)

Nice. It's about 39 deg F here, but feels like 14. Damn wind!

Budding out, shoot the maples have seed already and trees that get flowers are starting to bloom.

Well, NC is so screwed up now you know we'll have a cold snap in a couple weeks and kill the new growth ... heck, we might even have a March snow flurry also .

This Sunday's daylight will last for 10 h 12 min. Much better than Christmas times' six hours :)
