Bear hunt is a GO!

Looking forward to this one, month long season and the tag covers a very large area. Still not sure which rifle (or pistol) I'll be using, I'll see how the various builds go. Doubt I'll see a giant, here and there we get some 500+ bruins, but more likely half that is what's common.

Hey as long as he's Yogi it's bear. I would think if you gonna eat it a smaller one is better. But should you get one of those giant 500 pounders, more power too you and you can make sausage and have a bigger rug. It's a win win anyway you look at it. Congrats!

Yeah, they are terribly vile! They have sex out in the open and they pee and poo everywhere. And they kill and eat other defenseless animals. Yep, they're truly vile Creatures! So they need killing. And eating...

No, bear is earlier. Not sure on the elk or antelope tag yet, likely this week the "backdoor" will be open on CPWs page. Family will be up too, to pay respects to Steve (bear season/ his birthday are the same week)

Snake ol' buddy, I may have finally enabled myself into the same big boomer (more like medium boomer) I talked you into lol. Found another killer deal Friday, guns trapped in lay-a-purgatory until my Cabelas card payment posts tomorrow then its coming home. Then it MIGHT make a trip to JES in Oregon and come back with a much bigger hole in the tube ;)

    Its got a much smaller bore now. I wouldn't rebore a 9.3 bigger....but I'll gladly bore a smaller caliber TO 9.3

And if i quit buying guns I could afford the trip to Africa

Keep me posted, there is a SD pheasant hunt I could do in late October and the kids might get drawn for a deer hunt in a state park.

Enjoy your hunt can't wait to hear all about it. And remember in case of an attack, just make sure you can run faster than at least one of the other members in your hunting party!
Distance is not an issue, but the wind can make it interesting!

When your hunting group is attacked by a a bear you:
    1- Drop your firearm
    2- Draw your hunting knife
3- Stab the guy next to you on his thigh...

Funny, it's exactly the same plan I have when I dive and face a shark attack! :cool2:
