I couldn't wear one of those. My skirts are not long enough to cover that much thigh, and in the even I had to draw from a thigh holster I would be exposing much more than my pistol lol. Ooop's :)

Not really hot and sweaty. A little cooler than wearing thigh high stockings with a garter belt, if that makes sense.

Can't say as I've ever had occasion to wear that - but it would be cooler than dance tights!

Never one to disappoint the ladies.

This was taken quite a few years ago at an early Greek dance performance. This is the traditional Greek "Foustanella" (male skirt), worn by their honor guards:

I "draw the line" at anatomy. Skirts et al are unisex as far as I'm concerned. All it takes to wear one is a waist - we all have them. I don't have boobs!

A while back, you posted a pic of you in a Victorian dress with one of your butt pillows and a little umbrella. I wouldn't consider that unisex by any stretch of the imagination. If it was, you might see CPJ, and NN, and some of the others guys wearing that outfit in shrimp, or salmon at the SE shoot.

I think all ya'll should try wearing a dress, you will see it isn't so bad........ but then again it limits your shooting positions :)

Culturally, you are correct. But culture is an artificial construct, and has no basis in what I call "Ultimate Reality". The Victorian outfit (and its a skirt/shirt combo, not an actual dress) will fit anybody. Its only "feminine" if it involves a bra, its only "masculine" if it involves a jock strap (otherwise, its just fabric, no gender) - and even that isn't completely absolute; but is as close as you'll get on THIS plane of existence. Lots of psychobabble!

    For SIGgal's reference:

    attachment.php?attachmentid=10102&d=1414773592

Space/time is a large construct - men have worn what we now call "feminine" accoutrements for thousands of years. Why do we stop on a red light, and go on a green? Neither color has any intrinsic meaning, but society has agreed upon that particular convention. It may very well change in the future! Remember, it was in our lifetime that women weren't supposed to wear pants - so what's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. Blah, blah, blah, blah... :blah:

I've been telling these guys this for several years - or more correctly, telling them to try a skirt as dresses on guys are problematic as off the rack selections aren't made for our shoulder/hip/waist proportions - or chest shape. Most comfortable thing you can wear in public!

No bra - ain't cross anything. But whatever works for you. Its VERY interesting that women don't get hit with the "cross dressing" label when they wear (so-called) men's stuff. There's a lot of psychobabble and relative "gender valuation" involved, so I won't bore everyone with it (including myself :tooth:).

Skirt/shirt combo. Only way for me to get that look off the rack - a dress would have had to have been custom made, and thus a lot more expensive. I have 2 or 3 actual dresses - all of which are dance costumes - and they had to be custom made for me.

A lot of gals say exactly this - and it both puzzles and annoys me as I don't understand the "why" of it.

Either way, we have a lot of fun with the "back and forth" on the subject here. These guys are pretty much "whatever floats your boat" live and let live types, even if the subject *does* make them uncomfortable at times so I don't bring it up often as I really am here to learn more about firearms. :guns:

More back to the original subject, what is the consensus on front pocket carry of a compact single stack 9mm? I know there are "pocket holsters" made. That's one option I'm thinking about - T-minus 1 week until my CCW class!

That's one up that men have as far as clothing goes. Our pants fit much different and not only does a pistol not fit in there well, it is way obvious as well. My boyfriend is allowed to carry, and he carries a little Luger lcp? 9mm in his pocket, or his duty weapon. He likes the ease of concealing the weapon, but hates the bulk in there.
