See post #20. It seems at least a few Democrats aren't completely stupid. Even if it took them way too long to wise up.
Laura Ingram said the same you did almost word for word tonight on her Fox Show. Are you working for Fox now :tooth:

Of course Fox's agenda is equally transparent. They need to convince their audience that Franken stepping down is only about political strategy so they can continue rationalizing defending Roy Moore from all the terrible things he's done once he is elected tomorrow.

I don't need any convincing. I've witnessed the full range of political hypocrisy over several decades, and the verdict is in - both sides do it, but the lefties win overwhelmingly in anything to do with hypocrisy, and they are usually absurdly obvious about it. I mean really - Kirsten Gillibrand saying now that Bill Clinton should have resigned...after he and Hilary put her in the Senate. You give them credit for being smart, while I laugh at their consistent inconsistency.
In all fairness, I don't think the evidence is anywhere near conclusive against Franken. Some of the claims by the women seem credible, but the only proof against him is one photo that looks like something he might of done on SNL. Still, I think he is a bad Senator, so I'm happy to see him quit, rather than keep all of this in the news for weeks. As for anybody who is accused, I think they have to stay and fight, if they are innocent. Anyone who is innocent, and still quits, does not care about their reputation, or what their family and friends believe about them. If I were accused of such a thing, I would go to my grave defending my reputation.
When I watched his vague BS speech live yesterday morning I wondered if his nasty comment concerning Trump and Moore was scripted by the DNC or he relied on his own natural idiocy?

If it's not about political strategy, they why have the dems been providing cover for Clinton all these years?

Gun control laws make about as much sense as taking ex-lax to cure a cough.

A story was released today that the yearbook that Moore supposedly signed was actually altered by the complainant. Moore's lawyer stated early on that it was a forgery, and it looks like that may be true.
Political correctness is a liberal degrading of the freedom of speech. George Orwell's 1984 famously incorporated the notion of limiting thought through language (see Newspeak)." Meanwhile, the beatings will continue until morale improves around here.

The reports I've read say the handwriting analysis proved it was his signature, but that there were notes added about the date and location by the accuser. But again it has not been released to an independent body for analysis.
In my opinion he will more than likely get elected and then immediately investigated. I'd put the odds he completes his term at under 50%, but either way the calculation will be that it's better to elect him and maintain the seat in Republican hands regardless of the impact it has on 2018. I do think that ultimately it will hurt them in '18 which will be a tough one for them either way.

The photo is idiotic and of course damning. Just to be reluctantly fair. What could he or she actually feel through the flack vest? I think the idiot could be hung out to dry in civil suits due to his "acting" in the borderline porn film "Tunnel Vision" (1976).

Would it make you angry to see a photo of Sen. Franken doing that to your wife/daughter/sister/niece/BFF?

Conyers needed to go. He was literally that creepy entitled type that thought he was owed sexual favors. Franken? Honestly, I don't think so. I don't like the guy as a senator, but I think this whole thing is going too far. The plane boob touch thing was obviously just a joke in poor taste. The whole kiss her thing back stage? He probably crossed a line there, but still. The ass grab allegations? As creepy as I find Joe Biden, I do not think the guy has done anything that he has done with the intent of getting his jollies or some sort of sexual intimidation/gratification. Just like Bush I, or Franken. Times are changing and men should recognize that.
I have daughters. I am glad to see some of this stuff being brought into the open.

In the beginning they claimed he wrote the whole thing. Now she claims she wrote in the date and location. Either way, the whole thing is suspicious and I'm not yet convinced. It's just too convenient that these accusations occurred 3 weeks before an election, and democrats DO have a habit of finding accusers before a primary or election.....Herman Caine, Trump, appt. of Clarence Thomas to the SC. Democrats have ZERO credibility when it comes to politics, IMO. They play this game too often.

This is what we get with a two party system and highly gerrymandered districts/highly polarized states. You get guys like this and Conyers who can do pretty much anything they want with limited risk of ever losing their seats.

I will say in Frankens defense, he or someone on his staff almost always responded to my emails, very few did not get a response. Sen. Amy Klobachar (D)MN on the other hand, few if ANY of my emails have ever gotten responded too, so there is that FWIW.

Also this policy needs to change. Any of these settlements need to be a matter of public record.
