Gun Plans for 2018

My brief perusal of recent threads doesn't reveal that we've discussed this yet, so here we go.

What gun purchases, upgrades, etc are you anticipating for this year? Mine are as follows:

- Put my Tikka T3x into a KRG Bravo chassis
- Acquire a Gen 5 Glock 34 if they release one
- Get my can from ATF jail
- Have Leupold put a TMR reticle in my VX-3i
- Continue selling safe queens
- Attend a few courses

I'll also grab a Benelli M2 or Beretta 1301 if I find a screaming deal on one.

A secret squirrel .22 project. I'd like to have it done before the shoot, but I ain't banking on it. Got most all the parts, but till the lathe is squared away, the temps rise, and my give a flip increases, it ain't happening.
I plan on rebuilding my 7-08. New stock and trigger at a minimum, new barrel if it don't shoot the way I want.
Other than that, I don't have many plans at the moment. And those projects may not even get done.

Maybe a Beretta A400 Xplor for sporting clays.

Nothing is really inspiring me at the moment.

Only plans are for a 10/22 right now. Been eyeing up an SCCY CPX2 for my wife also.

    Surefire SOCOM762 Mini2

    otherwise:

Might actually sell some guns. Start saving for an Accuracy International AX or whatever the latest version may be.

Well if the .308 Montana needs a new home you know someone who’ll give her one :tooth:

Any more, I don't have gun plans...nothing out there that has me excited.

That said, should something pop up, is another story.

Only thang has my motor revvin' is my 7x57 right now. Trying to figure out what I want for a stock. Oh, it'll be wood, but I don't know what brand or anything. I want something with good walnut, a little fiddle back wouldn't piss me off. But I also want something trimmer than my Boyds I own. And I don't want a boat anchor. I want this rifle on the light side, like my .270.

Other than that, I'm putting everything else on hold. Nothing burning a hole in my shoe.

A Ruger Single Six .22 this week. Later on, a .308 that's being built (slowly) for me.

    A Ruger Blackhawk in .357/9mm or/and in .41 Mag.

Maybe that new Ruger .22, but main plan is to shoot more.

Well, since parts and pieces are either already here, or ordered and paid for:

    • Convert my Bicentennial Ruger 77R 7x57 into a 77INT in 7x57 (Have stock, Lilja SS 3G 9T barrel is on order)
    • Since I accidentally won an auction for a 16" 300 BO barrel (OOPS), for now, going to take the 10.5" 223 barrel off my pistol upper and convert it to 300BO
    • Get my stamp back and finish my 223 can (hurry up BATF)
    • Since I'm building my 300 BO, get my form 1 in for a 30 cal can
    • Buy parts to assemble said 30 cal can

Get the 275 and 404 Jeffery finished. Send the 270 off to get rebored. Really about the only "plans" I want to accomplish. Ill leave anything else to the universe's choice!

A GP100 44 special half lug blued 5” will be purchased shortly. A older Marlin 35 Remington 336 with amazing wood will be released from purgatory. After that I may suspend buying guns and shoot what I have for
    a while.
Aim higher, or get a bigger gun.

I've accumulated a cache of 308 win handloads and factory ammo. I need to time a range trip with decent weather, lesser crowds, and enough time to give granddads old rifle some serious time on paper.
My thoughts are generally clear. My typing, not so much.

I need another safe before any more long guns.

Actually now that I think about it, a stainless Henry all weather lever gun may be in order. Or one in 45LC.

Shooting my son's Marlin Glenfield Model 25 makes me want a bolt action .22 but not another Model 25.....don't get me wrong, I really like his but if I want to shoot a Model 25 I will just shoot his. I really like the looks of some Brownings I have seen on Armslist, but they seem a little pricey.

To keep my wife from complaining about me buying a .22 bolt gun I will have to buy her the .22 lever gun she wants.
Also on my list of wants:

    .30-06 bolt gun.
    .45-70 lever gun.

We will see how much of this happens this year.....

Go for the browning, love my T-Bolt and worth the cost in my humble opinion. It wears a Leupold 4x rimfire now.

I have been the caretaker of several f/a's for some time.

One goal is to send majority of these to whom they are earmarked for. (Who?whom? -- 😕 Where is Sam when you need him.😦)

Competitive speaking, my focus for 2018 will be Palma competition.
I have a specific and written training plan and schedule. Here's hoping not too many knuckle balls come my way and I get side tracked.

I had such enjoyment in 2017 shooting multi-day long range matches, I have 3 such matches on the calender for '18. As well as attending monthly LR matches within reasonable driving distance.

    As far as acquisitions,
    I have a second hand H&K P30L 9MM spotted at a LGS, & I'm really considering a Henry in .357Mag.
Another suppressor is certainly under consideration, wish they didn't take almost a year to acquire. 😠

I’d like another .243(Savage 10 maybe) or Savage Hog Hunter in .308 and either a Glock 17/34 or M&P

I just want to,shoot more. I have this rifle that has been sitting here half this year, and I have not shot it yet!

I have lots of parts to install on guns I have that I haven't gotten to.

Hiperfire trigger and new handguard on my AR
Trigger spring kit on my marlin 795.
Extractor and recoil spring on my 15-22s
    Two AR lowers to build.

What I really want is a PCC. I also want to compete in some bigger matches. I need to start making plans since they will be starting in FL soon. I want to shoot the steel Nationals in GA this spring, I want to shoot the area 6 steel and maybe USPSA matches, the AL state steel championships and Rimfire championship and the Mississippi State Rimfire and maybe steel championships. Any one want to sponsor me?

I would like something with some nice checkering instead of the smooth stock like my son's Model 25 has. Seems I have expensive taste though, most of the Brownings I have seen for sale were $600 to $1,000.

Very nice! I would love to have something like that in a dark walnut finish.

.45 Colt revolver, make and model are undecided.
    17HMR barrel for the CZ
    a good gun belt
    various holsters
different sights for the TRP and the P220
    a sling for the AR
    .223 and .308 dies
    rifle powders and primers
