You're gonna hate me!

Went to the local gun show yesterday with my usual low expectations! Well, I was in for a pleasant surprise and found this!
646170d1518362764-great-find-img_0527.jpg
1881 Marlin in .40-60 Marlin, which is identical to the 40-65 Winchester, based on the .45-70 cases with a straight taper.
Very nice feathered walnut, double set trigger, perfect bore, nice case hardening.

This one was JB's fault, 'cause he let me shoot his 1881 at the SE shoot, been lusting for one ever since!

Carry a 25 if it makes you feel good, but do not ever load it. If you load it, you may shoot it. If you shoot it, you may hit somebody, and if you hit somebody – and he finds out about it – he may be very angry with you. --Jeff Cooper

    Ain't showin' here!

ETA - most likely, its because you linked pix from a different forum. If I'm not logged into said forum, they won't display. I've been bit by this one myself!

Al, have you ever been to Ireland and kissed the Blarney Stone? You seem to have been permanently blessed with unending luck when it comes to guns, AND cars.

Made from 1881-1891. About 21000 produced. There was a large frame model in .45-70 and .40-60, and a small frame in .38-55 and .32-40.
