Range day...kind of a report.

Went to the indoor range, mostly to sort out the new mags for the Taurus pt-709. Feed lips come tight as heck, a little leatherman work and it feeds like a dream. No more feeding issues. Love it. Ran several hundred rounds to make sure I had it all solved.

Also at the indoor range, you can rent guns. $10 for the gun and you do have to buy a box of ammo ( yes you can bring your own). BUT the kicker is you can then shoot any of the rental guns. So I shot a Springfield XD, Walther PPq qmatch, CZ SP01 ( love )m the gen 3 Glock 17, and last but not least the S&W M&P 2.0.

Still hate the Glock, which is sad as I had pinned hopes on getting one for swapping mags with the Ruger carbine. WHICH I HELD AT CABELAS. $549. It's sweet.

The XD is nice. Walther is a pussycat in 9mm, CZ is nice and the 2.0 does have a nicer trigger, but the stipling is TOO aggressive.

I love trying different guns, I've found very few that I actually dislike but rather lots that I do like, just some more than others...

and the one I forgot. My soon to be brother in law's Super Blackhawk. I hate the wood grips. Put in some half JHP. "huh, the 44 isn't bad in the SBH. Switched to what was labled 44mag wadcutters. This is easy! BOOM! Forced myself to finish the cylinder but that's enough tribute to my FIL.

best part....shot a bunch of guns. Only have to clean three.

A little trick on the grip on Single Action pistols most people don't know that help with the recoil of those 'hawg legs'. Get a 'high' grip with the web of the hand pressing against the cocked hammer. Sounds odd, but it does help with that wrist snapping recoil.
