It was one like this.......... same front and rear sights.
Barrel "may" have been a bit longer like 12" and this one had a small fore end.
The condition was better on it also.
Bore was perfect,,,, trigger was giddy.
Unfortunately he's not sure what he'll do with it yet............I think I want it.....

I read that the old Stevens single shot pistols are extremely rare.

The old Me and Joey stories by Skeeter Skelton are from when he ran the country side around Hurfored Texas sp? with his Stevens single shot 22.

I missed out on one of those a while back at an auction in Wisconsin. Dealer had a sign that only state residents could bid on handguns because he did not want to be hassled with transfers. Had I thought about it, and did after the fact, it being antique I could have purchased without transfer. Live and learn. It sold for 75.00 as I recall.

It wasn't marked either way......I was tempted to just have him try a 22 LR

A double action revolver is a semiauto firearm. It fires once for every trigger pull.

Nice...is that a Stevens Model 35?  They come in a lot of different calibers, some obsolete rimfires so make sure you check the caliber.  I believe Annie Oakley had one for exhibition shooting.  I would love to have one!

By what I looked up it is.....The bore looks like .22 but I will make sure it is not 25 rimfire

I think the gun pre dates that cartridge.
A day off yesterday really messed me up.
I forgot today is only Saturday and he should be open.
    I can claim dibbs today.

Might be easy to mistake a 22 long for 22lr.

I know the price is right if you are even looking at it, you can eat ham for the next week and save up your lunch money.

I went down and talked to him.
After I looked at it yesterday he put it in the closet.
So no one else has seen it.
Right as it stands now....He will either bring it home or sell it to me.
He does that with interesting guns........... the taking home part.
Said to ask him about it in a couple weeks.
I'm hoping to either get this one or a side x side 410 that I know he took home a few years ago.
I hinted at him bringing it in for me.....It also was an old Stevens with phenomenal case color and ivory bead sights.

It wasn't priced when I saw it I had to check it out pretty thoroughly it was just cool.
The bore was minty and the nickel pretty much spotless.

I have that same problem with double barrel shotguns. There is just something about them that wants me to take them home.
( ok I have that problem with anything old )

I have never seen one in person, but a while back when searching for info about the CVA Scout Pistol, I came across info about the Stevens.  My first thought was neat, then thought the CVA was not really new.
