"Miss America" has arrived!

I think I'm going to call this one "Miss America" - she already has a sash on!

attachment.php?attachmentid=10260&d=1500497690

I'm ready for my closeup Mr. DeMille!

attachment.php?attachmentid=10261&d=1500497859

Had to drive through a virtual flood to go pick her up. And it only takes one idiot to bollux everything up for everybody else. Finally had to go around the *nice* *person* who didn't understand that flashing red is a stop sign...

The LGS was flabberghasted at the price I paid!

Sure does. The amount of hassle and the amount of money involved were both minimal. I bought the pictured ammo from the LGS 'cause I kinda felt bad for not buying the gun from them - he told me he couldn't even buy that gun wholesale for what I paid for it ($239).

Well, I ordered an overpriced 9 round mag from ShopRuger.com with my 20% new owner coupon. "2 more rounds of prevention" as somebody's ad used to say.

    The manual states:
"Your new RUGER (R) LC9s (R) pistol arrived from the factory properly lubricated and ready to fire. You do not need to clean the pistol before using it for the first time."

Uh, kinda. Properly lubed, yea - looked good to me. But when I field stripped it and inspected the barrel, there was all kinds of dust, dirt, lint, and Goddess knows what other detritus inside. So I ran a patch through it. Mo' bettah!

You also don't need to check that your issued parachute isn't just a backpack before jumping out of an airplane. Used to be that the P-89's came with about half a teaspoon of what appeared to be Vaseline in-artistically distributed throughout the innards - - sometimes they even got it where lube SHOULD go. I don't know how many of those I handled coming through the LGS that had been shot ad infinitium without having been taken apart once. You can have white cake, yellow cake, or chocolate cake for your birthday; these guns were a gift of black cake.

Looks like you got a slightly chunky Glock 43 with a thumb safety. Should be a decent workhorse for ya.

Should be. It was a choice between this one and the G43 - they both felt and shot pretty much alike. So when this one came up on a screaming deal, I pounced - thanx to Big Chief!

Cool grab. Hope it does well for you.

And I was patrolling in that monsoon. It was something.

King St/520 between 1 and the HH Causeway was a bit dicey in the westbound direction. Other than that, not much problem - just avoid the deep spots!

Great deal buddy. I keep thinking I want a light small 9mm as a belly gun but somehow, even with all the current awesome deals out there, I keep buying anything but a darn little 9mm...

I have the first issue LC9 with a horribly long crapper trigger pull but with some practice I have her figured out pretty well. She is my constant companion in a DeSantis Nemesis holster in my right hip pocket ( the reason I mostly wear carpenter jeans ).
I have been concidering the LC9 though.
