My favorite these days is Peet's Major Dickason's Blend. Dark and smooth.

Bullsi, Kirkland's Colombian used to be relabeled Starbucks House Blend. Same stuff, 1/3 the price.

Major Dickason is the best coffee on the market. I can't find anything close. I am spoiled by drinking it at home. Coffee at work tastes like dirty bath water. I solved this by ponying up the cash for a large Yeti rambler. I have coffee hot for most of the morning.

I don't drink coffee. My wife drinks Black Rifle Coffee Company Freedom Blend. She is now a former Starbucks drinker and says BRCC Freedom Blend is better.

That's our "back-up" coffee when we can't get our usual, Cafe La Llave.

It's a fine grind espresso, and both my wife and I like our coffee black and strong. Imho, Bustello is a distant 2nd place.

La Llave is the cheapest coffee Safeway sells, but this is one time that price isn't an indication of quality. If you like Bustello, I'd bet you'd like La Llave even better.

I have ordered it from Amazon when local supplies were short.

Thanks, the Café Bustello started out stupid cheap at Target and Aldi's, then they got us hooked and jacked up the price. I do like the cool metal cans the Café Bustello comes in.

Cafe La Llave price can fluctuate by $2 a can, but even at it's highest it's $2 a can cheaper than Bustello.

And....it comes in cans, too. Or vacuum packs.

The best way I can compare La Llave to Bustillo is it's richer and stronger without any of the bitter bite. If that makes any sense.

FYI for people who grind whole beans. Years ago, i watched episode of "America's Test Kitchen", where they did extensive testing on whole bean coffees. I think it was Starbuck's that was best. But something they said about pale beans, really stuck with me. They said all packaged beans had some pale ones mixed in with the dark beans. These were filler. If they had any taste at all, it was bitter. A pound of Starbuck's would have 12 -15 pale beans, where a pound of Dunkin Donuts would have over twice the amount. They found that if you took a few minutes to sort out all the pale beans from a pound of Dunkin Donuts, it tasted better than the Starbuck's, straight out of the bag.

No coffee for me unless I desire a good colon cleansing. And I have no idea how people drink it black. Ugh

There is such thing as black coffee that’s not bitter?

Folgers black silk. Folgers gourmet supreme. And a host of others. Those are dark roast. I find most of the lighter roast to be the ones that are bitter.

Yep. Folgers used to make a French roast that was really good. They don't make it anymore.

    So......Cafe La Llave.

    Trust me on this one.
