I've never seen "Erik the Viking", I'll have to check it out.

I *hate* when they butcher a movie, esp. when its the version released to theatres and you have to wait until the "Director's cut" comes out on DVD to even understand the damn thing. "The Abyss" is a great example of this, a wonderful movie that didn't make a lot of sense until we saw the longer version. My wife wanted to ask James Cameron, "Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot?!" Even "Back to the Future" has a deleted scene or two that really help the story - as does the original "Star Wars"! Ditto for "The Goonies".

Another one that just "rusts my gun barrel" is butchering the video release. There's a delightful "mini-series" called "All The Rivers Run", used to air on HBO as I recall. There are a couple of video releases (VHS?), both compromised. The better one is (as I understand it), a rare version out of Australia (where it was filmed and the story takes place). I sure wish there was a "full release" if not a "director's cut" of the darn thing...

"Event Horizon" was drastically cut because of blood and gore - I'd love to see it as original, but I think I read that the deletions really *did* go on the cutting room floor, and were swept up and incinerated afterwards. Even my beloved "Phantasm" was hacked up, and doesn't make a lot of sense in places - of course, that could be said of the entire series which somehow makes the lack into a feature instead of a bug!

I might be accepting of cuts to scenes that run long for no good reason and maybe cut 5-10 minutes off the release if it makes the movie better but 23 minutes! Entire plots can be destroyed with that much of the reel hacked off.

They did the same thing to Leon: The Professional. Overseas, it was released as Leon but here in the U.S. it was released as The Professional and also 24 minutes shorter!!! Entire scenes were cut out and some of the things Jean Reno says to Gary Oldman near the end doesn't make any sense unless you've seen the whole thing. I have the International release called Leon: The Professional but the opening scene just has Leon as a title splash and it's in english.

    It's way better uncut.

Lo, there do I see my father.
Lo, there do I see my mother.
And my sister and my brother
Lo, there do I see the line of my people

Lo, they do call to me.
They bid me take my place among them

For all you non-Norsemen, a quick sidebar: the Vegsivir is a Viking compass. It is said that he who carries the Vegsivir will never lose his way in life.

We now return you to your current thread, already in progress.

Here is your final lesson - do not commit the crime for which you now serve the sentence. God said, "Vengeance is mine."

    I don't believe in God.

It doesn't matter. He believes in you.

Well, since no one but JerryBobCo guessed...
Spoken my "Matty Van Patten" (Matt Lintz) to "Brenner" (Adam Sandler) in the Movie "Pixels" while they're battling Donkey Kong in the climatic battle

Also, earlier in the film when "Matty" is playing a first person shooter game and "Brenner" asks how you play a game without patterns.

I was gonna guess Pixels but the quote you gave is not the same. So I figured it had to be something else. There's at least six other movies with similar lines but none of them came out in 2015.

When Matty explains to Brenner about FPS games he says:

"You gotta pretend you're the guy and you don't wanna die."

Later, in the Donkey Kong finale when Brenner is losing hope fighting the barrels and he says:

    "I can't do this!"

Matty yells down to him from up top and again says:

"You gotta pretend you're the guy and you don't wanna die."

So I wanted to guess Pixels but it seem too different.

Hey, I was chasing my tail on that quote. That's the reason I look my own quotes up so I'm not posting a misquote. I remember a cool quote then I look it up so I'm posting the correct quote because I want members to remember and find them.

I've seen all these movies on DVD, including Pixels. I watched it again last night because I was almost certain that Knite meant "Pixels" but finally the quote in question was just too different so I figured I gotta be wrong! :bang:

To quote another memorable movie, "It's a small matter." (LMLarsen knows it.)

Here's a movie quote from the past:
