Another vote for "Dragnet." Also for the Jesse Stone made-for-TV movies.
Any of you watch "Person of Interest?" Not exactly a cop show but I think it's great.

Actually NYPD Blue and Hill St Blues take second and third place behind........................................Jesse Stone...............

The lead actor ( Tom Selleck) and the scripts were a match made in heaven. ( I have the whole series recorded and have watched them a number of times.)

The Jesse Stone novels were some of the finest that Robert Parker did in his latter career, after his Spenser books had gone stale. In print, Jesse is a lot younger and at first Parker objected to Selleck, but it didn't take long for Parker to become a solid backer of Selleck, remained so till his death (Parker's Death).

Is Justified a cop show? I can't wait for the season to start.

Amazing show, Justified. Downright scary in some of its implications. Hill Street Blues and NYPD Blues were/are both extraordinary.

Adam-12 hands down; everything that was done on screen was actual LAPD procedure, right down to radio protocol, and all scripts had to be approved by the LAPD in order for an episode to air.

While it has strayed quite a bit from Lindsay's original story line, Dexter is without a doubt my favorite show on TV today.
