Wonderful classic movie, Edmund Gwenn was terrific. It's just that I've seen it so many times.
btw, the fairly new version of "A Christmas Carol" that stars Patrick Stewart is excellent. It usually gets airtime during Christmas TV schedules. The version w. George C. Scott is also pretty good. There are many versions out there, most mediocre, some really awful. Best original was the '52 Brit version w. Alstair Sim but the Patrick Stewart version is the best ever made, based on his 1-man stage presentation of the story.
