Very aggressive line of weapons. Too bad some of them require the ATF stamps for us civies to own. Is the 870 line of pumpers featuring dual action bars for the bolt movement? I see they matched Mossberg with the 2 3/4 and 3 inch shell capability. Just curious, love my Mossberg. Later,

The Fed is a 40x in an AICS stock. Excellent rifle! I had one for several years.

Lord, make me fast and accurate. Let my aim be true and my hands faster than those who would seek to destroy me. Grant me victory over my foes and those that wish to do harm to me and mine. But Lord, if today be the day that you call me home, let me die in a pile of empty brass.

Interesting. I did not realize that they had been out that long.

I saw one recently in a local gun store. It was $2700. But that gun store is famous for VERY high prices. I don't know what MSRP is but if that store is asking $2700, an MSRP of $2400 wouldn't surprise me.

Mine if I ask what you paid?

I thought all 870s had duel action bars and that that was one of the improvements over the one it replaced, the model 31 Remington, although, I don't think it's that big of an improvement except in the buyer's mind. My dad's Mod. 31 had one massive action bar and never had an issue due to one bar.

Well, nevermind. It's a very big stretch to fit that into this thread. THREAD HIJACK!!! Ok back on subject.....

Snake, The old 870s were single action bars and chambered for 2 3/4 shells. The M brand came out with dual action bars and chambered 2 3/4 and 3". Maybe Remington is catching up. Well worn 870s are smooth as silk though but I'm still a Mossberg man. Later,

Mossberg went from a single to dual action bar in 1970 for the 500.

The 870 was introduced in 1950 with dual action bars.

    Mossberg 500s were introduced in 1961 with a 2 3/4" chamber.

The 870 with a 3" chamber came out in 1955.

Kinda hard to "catch up" when Remington did it before Mossberg did.

Let's back up a bit. What does the Remington 700 Fed cost?

Not sure what MSRP is but the $2700 sounds about right. Those AICS stocks are pretty pricy and so is the stock M24 so I would have guessed somewhere in the mid $2000's to low $3000's.

PS I think Zee's is a custom rig just set up similarly so cost probably won't be comparable.

2700 seems about right. Iirc, the aics chassis is close to a grand by itself.

Oh. And thread drift. Its what we do here.
