We are in the 'trial balloon' stage, at the moment. They 'leak' their most radical intentions to measure the level of outrage, then, either back down to something that seems 'reasonable' to the majority of the opposition, or just quietly drop the whole thing, and move on to another more promising manufactured controversy.

We have a president who feels no obligation to the traditions of this country, does not recognize the Constitution as the charter for this country, and has no respect for those who do. He has been feeling his way along the path of creating a dictatorship, and has had enough small successes to encourage him to try ever more outrageous abuses of power. He measures how rapidly to proceed by how much opposition he sees in the part of the population who is actually paying attention. Sounds radical, I know...but how can an objective person see it as anything else?
We are one Supreme Court judge away from a rubber stamp, for anything this guy wants to do.
