    Laserlyte on a LCP 380

I have wanted a lazer for my 380 ever since I looked down the sights. Anyone tried this one or should I just get the front mount style?

The reviews on the Laserlyte are hit and miss. Personally if I was going to buy a laser for anything it would be crimson trace as there doesn't appear to be anything higher quality on the market.
Part of what makes the AK so awesome is that it's the shameless, kinda dirty chick who's always down to party and doesn't expect you to buy her diamonds.

Crimson Trace is going to be your best option in my opinion...I have shot my buddies LCP with one...man that thing bounces.....

Laser will get you killed - do you really think taking the time to worry about locating that dot is effective for self defense? While screwing around with a laser your attacker will already be firing the second or third shot.

Just my opinion, others will surely have a strong opposite opinion.

I share the belief that lasers are pretty much like roll bars on a motorcycle. At .380 ranges in in LCP situations, you want to skin that gun and shoot it at 3-4 yards or so. Personally, I don't need a laser to hit a target at that range.

But then, I'm AL (anti laser) in general.

This gun is for my wife walking her dogs, greatest threat is going to be other dogs right at her feet while she is trying to hold 2 dogs on leash. No sights on the lcp. The laser may help to not shoot herself in the foot. We have practiced shooting paper plates on the ground around her. Still in tence moments and dogs pulling, I would want the laser.

I fondled a S&W .380 that had a integral laser , it seemed pretty handy. Mostly useful in low light situations IMHO.

I have laserlyte on mine and like it. It only makes the gun slightly thicker and it still fits easily into my pocket holster, much better than the crimson trace, and i'm not disputing crimson trace quality. Likelihood that I would use it in the event of actually pulling it out, nobody here knows? Or somehow that it will actually get you killed? In day light you won't be able to see it, but low light or darkness would be a plus, if time allowed. It's better to have and not need, than to need and not have. I know at the range I can shoot much tighter groups using the laser, and I know you don't want your wife shooting her own dog!

Re: Laserlyte on a LCP 380

I have Crimson Trace laser sights on three of my sub-compact pistols, including an LCP. I agree that one should never use the laser sight as a crutch, and neglect normal practice. I don't want to find myself depending on anything that uses a battery, and I don't want to have a single moment's hesitation, caused by looking for a dot that might not be there.

But, as a training aid for dry-fire trigger control, they are excellent, more so on a revolver, because you don't have to rack the slide to dry-fire. Also, for someone like me who needs reading glasses to focus the front sight, they could be a life-saver, in the event that my glasses are knocked off, or I'm just not wearing them, or if it's dark and I can't find the sights.

My CT's have proven to be reliable, and have long battery life, but I still do nearly all my live-fire practice with iron sights, because in the event I find myself in a self-defense situation, I want to be looking down the sights. It's not a big deal to transition from iron sights to laser, since your dot should be in the middle of your sight picture, anyway, and you should (logically speaking) be able to easily do it by the second shot, at least, if necessary.

Anyway, I'm a fan of the CT Laser, but only as a training aid, and as a back-up to the standard sights. On the LCP, it actually increases my accuracy at longer distances.

I have the front mounted Crimson Trace laser on my LCP. The laser works great, no complaints.
