Opening morning of Shot headed in now. Wish me luck!
I'm at work, chomping at the bit right now to get out there. IF I get lucky today, I can probably see the last 30 minutes of today. If not, I'll probably have to wait until Thursday. Booo!

Hope y'all got comfy shoes. Walked through it when it was in O-town 5 or 6 years ago and my dogs were barking half way into it.
Just talked to Steve Rinella from the Meat eater show good guy nice to talk to.
Wonder if there will be any talk there regarding the pending bun ban/s.
If this post is non welcomed, I can always give you a recipe for making "tostones".
Spent some time at the Yankee Hill booth ordered two new suppressors, a cobra .45 and a phantom 7.62. Also spent went by the Armscor booth and looked at and held the 2012 Tac-II 10mm nice gun good fit and finish, going to put in an order for one of those. The only bad/funny part of the day was again the Olympic Arms people. We were at the Gun Broker booth when a guy from there came up and heard me talking about a .25wssm and butted in to tell me he was "surgically implanting deer with a .25wssm from Oly Arms". Dude was weird just another reason to stay away I guess.
Anybody have a show special code for brownells yet?
where are the pics? Whats cool? C'mon, think of us poor saps sitting at home looking for pics of new guns!

They won't let me take pics not press. Spent even more time at the Armscor/Rock island armory booth talking about the TCM22 in both 1911 and bolt action. The bolt gun looks awesome for shooting ground squirrels.
To be honest I haven't spent much time looking at guns yet. I have been doing a lot of accessory shopping.
With some individual permission, we managed to get some pics from SHOT:

For you bargain-minded tactical guys, you'll be happy to know that Redfield is releasing a $199 MSRP tactical scope that features red and green lasers, as well as red and green reticles:
Speaking of tactical, does anyone need a belt-fed machine gun?
Or, you can do it old school with a Gatling gun:

Excuse me - I believe I ordered the LARGE supressed .50 cal (a wicked large Barrett with about an 18" can on it):
Speaking of Barrett, here's a pic of me and Ronnie at the show. I had a talk with him about finally offering up us lefties at least some form of his .50 cal offerings in a left-handed version, to which he replied, "you know, I think I am finally going to do it. I've been thinking about that and I think we're going to do it." Fellow lefties, you can thank me later if it comes through. He says he's had his folks toying around with it in SolidWorks for some time and it's just a matter of making it happen. I told him I'll be glued to his website in anticipation:
Some Lapua bullet cross-sections from a few of their offerings:
The brand new Savage B.MAG, which will shoot the .17 Winchester Super Mag rimfire round. Only $350 MSRP for the gun and it handles like a dream!

The Fausti sisters were nice enough to pose for a quick picture in front of their respective brocure shots:
Me and the Gunny at the Glock booth:
We also met Rich Wyatt from Gunsmoke in Colorado (American Guns), who really seemed to be quite a nice guy:
And now, just for Teach, I got a pic at the Red Jacket booth...
All in all, we had a killer time. There was more to see than I could in single a day on leave - by a long shot - but it was so good to see such an amazing turnout despite all the BS we've been hearing in the news. The sea of people was beyond words. Thank you N454Casull for guiding me through this incredible show!

When I went to two different shot shows in Houston, I took my camera both times. And it weren't no pocket cam. It had a strap around my neck. Only thing is I think maybe they thought I was press or maybe a photographer for a magazine because that camera had a Johnny Wad size lens and looked very professional. Anyway, I got lots of pics both times. One thing I wish today I would have gotten a pic of was John Riggins when he got out of the taxi and put two 16 oz Coors on the roof of the taxi while he was fishing in his pockets with both hands looking for taxi fare, LOL!!! What a sight!!! Later that day, I was at the NRA booth and I heard two guys talking. One said to the other, "Guess who showed up drunk here this morning. John Riggins." I could hardly keep my coffee down from laughing so hard.

You should have asked Craig Boddington why he rated the .270 Win. over the 6.5s LOL!!!

It was a hit-n-run opportunity and the older one started speaking to me in Italian. I figured I'd better git, while the gittin was good on the pic. They were very sweet and accomodating to stop what they were doing for a picture because they looked like they were about to get into a buyer's meeting.
