Noticed the .357 mag cases are flaring a bit .... odd. Seems one side of the case mouth has a barely perceptible flare to it, but the other side? Nada.

It sounds like you're expanding the cases too much. Adjust the die up until it barely bell-mouths the case enough for the bullet to start seating without shaving lead off. Jacketed bullets don't really need the case expanded at all, but I usually do just enough expansion that the bullet starts straight, then I adjust the seater die deep enough to iron the case mouth back down flat against the bullet. If it's a very heavy load and the bullet has a cannelure, adjust the seater die down deep enough to crimp the case into the cannelure. Be careful the case doesn't buckle from too much crimp!
