I'll be shooting an iron sighted Kimber G82 at Sundays 50 yd smallbore match. I really cant think of anything more frustrating than shooting smallbore. I could fully understand if after the match I saw a stack of bent .22 barrels at the foot of the flagpole....

Nite time coyote hunting up here in the North Country, RRA PP 223. Overnite lows will be around -10 below for the next 3 nights, with full moon and it should be clear.

If I wasn't just so bent on getting some more hogs, I'd be coyote shooting. There's plenty of them around here. I usually see from 5 to ten each time I'm out at the lease. And that's in daylight. With a wounded rabbit call I could rally rack up.

Sure wish we could do that here. But I might get out early in the morning and try to get one myself. Probably carry the 200 Stevens .223.

Re: What are you shooting this weekend?

But as for what I'll be shooting, well I hope to be SHOOTING, that is, Hogs. Deer are safe for another year so hogs are the only thing on the menu. I've loaded for three rifles and now need to go to the range to check my .270 and my 30-06, both of which I suspect I may have moved the POI on because I dropped both. Actually, I didn't drop either one. The Rem. 700 SPS 30-06 I fell while holding and the scope did hit the ground on the occular lens, and the .270 I bumped while getting out of the blind. It wasn't a hard bump but I shot at a coon with it under my feeder at about 60 yards and missed. So I'm doubting if it's still on.

I did load up about 30 more .270s with 130 grain Combined Technology bullets (First time using that bullet in that rifle) over 56.7 grains IMR 4831 (My Go To load for that rifle for about 30 years, but before with 130 grain Sierra Game Kings) and 50 rounds of the same bullet in 150 grains for my 7 Rem, Mag. Plus I loaded about 10 rounds for my .257 Ackley with the same CT bullets in 115 grain, now my go to load in that rifle. I have a lot of rounds loaded for my 8mmx57 Mauser with 150 grain Hornady Interlocks over 54.7 grains BLC-2.

I'm really liking CT bullets. I don't know if they're any better than Sierra Game Kings, but that's what I'm trying to establish. But to be honest, I'm thinking it's a tie. Only Time and Experience will tell.

Mr. Chairman, Mr. Chairman, a point of order, I make a motion that teaser posts also be fined for lack of even stock pics to hold us over.
To the OP's point we're looking at:

    .32 S&W Long
    .357/38 spl
    .45 acp
    .22LR

A coon? At 60 yards? With a .270? Oh, you hit it all right. It just bounced off.

I plan on bringing the 1022 to try and kill some tree rats.

Actually cpj at 60 yrds he probably didn't allow enough hold over and at that range with a .270 even the mildest cross wind would be a factor. Sounds like a clean miss.

True. With a 10 yard zero, the .270 is 14 feet low at 70. I'm half asleep, please pardon my faux pa.
