I did not have to change the slide on mine. Removed that huge screw on top, and drove out the front hinge pin, and the new one screwed right in place. One of the benefits of the Russian IJ-70 Commercial makarovs

Why did you go from the adj. sight to the fixed?...Is it something I need to look at.
A lot of folks do not like the risk of adjustable sights getting caught on clothing are having the adjustment insert fall out when it comes their carry guns. That's one reason people go to fixed sights.
Accuracy: because white space between bullet holes drives me insane.
I don't use the Mak as a carry gun for that very reason - the adjustable rear sights would want to get caught on any clothing that got near it. With fixed sights it would be a great carry gun. I like the size and weight of it, plus with the decocker you could carry with a round chambered and not have to worry about fumbling with a safety when the need arises.
ATF should not be a government agency, it should be a discount store.
Beretta makes a decent model similar to the Taurus, works better and looks better too......
