Ruger Redhawk - is this a good buy?

Just saw an ad from a local woman selling a Ruger Redhawk (not a SUPER Redhawk), for $400. I don't really know much about these guns, but I do love Rugers, I love wheelguns, and I've been wanting a .44 for my arsenal for a while now. I'm not sure of the gun's age. From my 10 minutes of internet research, this seems a little cheap to me - cheapest I could find one for is $540. Assuming it is in decent condition, is this a good deal? Any of you own the Redhawk? What can you tell me about it?

ATF should not be a government agency, it should be a discount store.

I should also include that it's stainless with the 7.5" barrel.

It's for sale in a Facebook group that my ol lady subscribes to. The girl selling it looks kinda young, so I have to make sure she's at least 18 before I even go look at it. I had a few questions about it, but if she answers those I might just have a new .44 by the end of the day

I would definitely buy a .44 Redhawk for $400 if it was in decent condition.

Do it. I got my 5.5" Redhawk about three years ago and paid $500 for it. Do it.

I may have been too late. The seller said a sale was pending on it from someone who contacted her before I did. So it looks like the only way I'll get it is if that person backs out. Story of my life - day late and a dollar short. I still got my fingers crossed.

Just to rub a little salt in the wound, there was one at my LGS Tuesday, had some sort of scope mount on top, they had it priced at $799.
    They're awesome guns.

Hey now! All of my revolvers are Ruger except 2, a S&W 642 and a Taurus 85, just because the folks on the right coast unload this stuff in your neighborhood is no need to cast aspersions. We are trying to come around to your way of thinking.

Speak for yourself! The only reason I have a S&W is some fool traded me his pristine 6" 686 for a Savage 110. Every revolver I've ever bought is a Ruger!
Besides, you own a Taurus, so your judgement is suspect.

It came with a laser grip so I was temporarily blinded by the extra shiney-ness, I "gave"
    it to the wife.

I responded to the ad as soon as I knew I could get the cash up, guess it wasn't fast enough. Now I'm going to have to add it to the list of "ones that got away". The last one that got away was an old 6" Colt Trooper mkII. Now I have to get one of those AND a Redhawk.
