    Re: Obama Supporter Disconnect

This is a great thread! Democrats and Republicans, arguing over who is to blame for the state of the union!

From the perspective outside of the two party bubble, I think that "we the people" have gotten what's coming to us, to put it bluntly. We have, in my opinion, allowed the politicians from BOTH parties, to manipulate the public mindset, and effectively put us at odds with each other over petty personal differences and beliefs, rather than addressing "real" issues that impact us all. Meanwhile the country crumbles around us. The only way I see anything changing is for the people to really stop bickering with each other over these petty issues of how each other lives, believes, loves, or exercises individual freedoms, and hold our politicians accountable, regardless of political affiliation.
Yeah sure, you can say that my .380 is underpowered, but I'm betting you wouldn't want me shooting you in the face with it!

Well said, which is why I've recently shifted more and more Libertarian. Also, I've disconnected from all 24 hour news sources. They are all junk. I don't think the mainstream media even has any true journalists anymore. I've taken to reading (carefully) articles that are published on many web formats, blogs, and try to avoid the sensationalist media at all costs.

One stupid question, what changes Obama has actually put in place regarding gun laws in the 4 years he ALREADY served as president? That is before 2013 and before the Sandy Hook incident.

Please no "I heard, I think, I suspect, it satisfies my agenda etc.", actual presented or made law...

I think some of the answers you seek might be found here:

I'm at work and am supposed to be doing my job, so I can't read this fully, but I will tonight. Let me know what you think?

Not much since he knew it would decisively affect his re-election chances and he would never give up his mansion, cars, SS and jets for ANYONE. That boy and his wife are having a PARTY at our expense. That point was sold to many a gun owners who went with him AGAIN because of that fact. It was also the way Unions sold him back to their members since for the most part union guys are pro guns.

BUT, even though he had not really done much for his base on gun control, based on comments he made to the Brady folks and the Russians (for those of us that are ALWAYS listening) we should have all been clear that in his second term he knew he was comming at us with everything he has because he is leaving anyway...
