I purchased a Rhem 770 308 with scope as my first rifle. I wanted something to take to the range, shoot at a fair distance just to target shoot and perhaps some hunting later on. Needless to say this poor excuse of a weapon is being shipped right back to Remington with a quickness. every third round failed to extract due to the bolt sticking. I had to single feed the rounds because the loaded mag. caused the bolt to also jam when trying to eject rounds. Lets not even discuss my customer service experience.
Without being to hard on me can anyone suggest a weapon which will better suit what I am looking for. I just want a weapon I can shoot, work on accurate targeting, have fun with and enjoy. I like bolt action but now I am not sure I even want a Remington. My weapons instructor has a rhem, 700 but I was hoping to stay under $1000.00. any feedback would be welcome. and yes I did some research prior to purchasing the 770. I saw some comments about the bolt but had hoped the issue had been worked out. A rifle has to feel good to me, balanced and fit in my shoulder comfortably so I will take a look at all suggestions.
