I think it's that the sheeple want to "feel safe" not "be safe". So as long as their government (not mine, theirs) keeps reassuring them that everything that is being done, is being done to assure that they are "safe", the sheeple will accept that. Each day I seem to learn something new that drives home the point that this is not the country I was born and raised in.

You mean by his administration creating the DHS and passing the Patriot Act in response to 9/11? No arguement here. I think, not 100% sure, but I think this country is still "technically" under the state of emergency that was declared after 9/11 and that's never been officially lifted.It's all Bush's fault (seriously).

That's exactly what I meant. Bush created the means to make things even worse under Ovomit. In one sense, liberals were right to complain about this legislation, but you don't hear a freakin' peep out of them now. Talk about hypocrisy!
