Looks like it could be a lot of fun.

Sounds like it's right down your alley. And with those long rang pistols you have you should do well!![]()

Looks like fun... I think we had a thread that mentioned that a little while ago:

Yes, that is me to a "T". I am the ninja wannabe SP sniper
Every time I shoot a LR field match (I should say "Tactical") I imagine all those square 10" or 12" steel plates are bad guys!
The only thing that I don't like about it so far is that I may have to leave my brass. On the SP's I would consider using that is a No Go!
Not going to throw away 250 pieces of Lapua brass or brass that has been neck turned (Match prepped brass).
That leaves my AR-Pistol, but it would be lacking at further distances, so I wouldn't be as competitive as I would like to be.
It would give me good wind dope practice though.

Why would you have to leave your brass?
Bad Ju-Ju! That's what ya call, a "target indicator".
Lord, make me fast and accurate. Let my aim be true and my hands faster than those who would seek to destroy me. Grant me victory over my foes and those that wish to do harm to me and mine. But Lord, if today be the day that you call me home, let me die in a pile of empty brass.
Just realized I cannot use my AR-pistol as it is a 6mm or above for caliber
To make the match run faster. Sounds like you have 5 minutes per stage.
They give a link to the snipershide forum where this is explained:
Post by Lowlight responding to a question if it was going to be a "lost brass match"
"You have 5 minutes, but essentially, yes it's a lost brass match, you can mark it and try going back after your segment is finished, that is fine. However if the clock stops and you are finished, you have to move off the line, there is no waiting for you to police your brass.
Some stages are easier to keep a handle on it than others, but I would figure on losing at least 50% of it"

Was planning on using my rear grip 6.5-06 SP that I used for the Wyoming Tactical Rifle Championship last year, but I not willing to give up 1/2 of my brass as this chamber is a tight neck.
This knocks out all of my SP's.
That leaves my 40X![]()

Glad they "keep it real".
:sarcasm:
I've shot in some comps that ding you time for left brass. Because.........you don't leave brass behind!

I may go down for a day or two and RO. We will see.
Or we may set that Saturday as the day we have our church field shoot.
Still play at distance (300-1150 yards) and get to be with church family and friends.
