No idea. I don't think walther makes a p99 anymore so they may have just bought the rights/machining to manufacture it. That's my best guess at least.

I was wrong, looks like they do still make the p99. Still no idea on what's different.

Excellent review on the Canik here in an article on our sister publication, Handguns Magazine:

turkey did clone it and hoping that the clone is as good or better, especially since you are paying nearly half the price. the company in turkey is a major defense contractor and thinking that the quality of gun may be very close to the german gun, sans s&w hands

We'll give you a few days leeway since you're new, but forum rules state $5 fine for not posting pictures of a new gun! Here is a thread that tells you exactly how to post your pic...

Congrats on the new gun btw!

You can PM me and I'll send you my address

It's just a long running joke on the forum. No one pays anyone, but people will give you crap if you talk about a new gun and don't post pictures.

i forgot to put the "lol" on previous reply. thanks for your support. i have posted photos of the tp9 from the net for the time being. just hope that it is close to the p99 or even the ppq. the new ppq is out as i speak, but have not seen any videos yet.
