Nope. It's in the front room away from where laundry is done. If it was in the bedroom, all bets would be off.
Not sure how long to wait till I mention it hasn't been used. Sure as hell wished my sister in law didn't want it back to collect dust at their house. Or, it would only be here another 2 months at most. Then it would just "disappear".

Holy Oh FRIG! Decided to fish the errant nut that holds the shaft that a gear on the lathe rides on from deep within the bowels of the beast. Magnet retriever was too big, so I shoved a wire in to try and flip it out. Heard it drop, then it vanished. Looked and looked, and low and behold it had fallen RIGHT OUT IN THE OPEN. Couldn't do that again if I tried. Lubed the shafts, and anything else that looked lube worthy and wow is this thing quiet. That gear has been loose for pretty much ever. I just thought it was a normal noise.

Cable box keeps booting all by itself. Probably telling me I shouldn't be sitting on my arse watching TV.

Emptied 5 pounds of chips from the chip tray under the lathe. First removed all the tools that were hidden in said chips. Reorganized my lathe tool cabinet, and the bench in general. Not exactly how I want it, but it will work for now. I'll clean the bottom shelf of the stand tomorrow. And then to reloading/work/crap collecting flat surface bench. Still couldndo a bit more garage organizing, but it's FAR better than it was. But I've got a few projects to finish before the SE Shoot. Nothing like waiting till the last minute...
Speaking of last minute, IF I have time I'm gonna have something special made by then. I'm not holding my breath though.

I was bored last night and got to thinking.............BAD MOVE! I think I figured out the 'F' scale for tornadoes, as in F-1, F-2, F-3, etc. The size and destructive force of the tornado heading towards you is related to how many times you drop the F-bomb when you see it coming. Makes sense to me.

Seems about right, although I suppose it could also be called the 'OS' scale...

The 'F' scale and the 'OS' scale are pretty much interchangeable.

I've changed my mind again: Gonna run straight across the country at flank speed. There's just too much crap in this car!

Yeah. Folks in Californistan might not look twice at a dude in a dress. Down south however, you're gonna be the center of attention.

It'll do 100 or so all day long, but I'll do 65 or 70 - basically the speed limit. Don't particularly want to be pulled over!

Got more anthills after yesterday's rain than I think I have ever had. I've started spraying them with a strong mixture of something called 38 Plus. I sprayed some earlier and I think the survivors just moved over a few feet. I wish I could find something other than gasoline that would kill all of them

I used.to use ascephate but again the survivors just moved somewhere else.

    Anyone got any ideas?

Back before I fixed the fuel leaks on my Diesel tractor, I'd just park it over an anthill and let it idle for a while. The drips sort of wiped out the fire ants pretty nicely.

Have you heard of scooping up a shovelful of one nest and dropping it on a different one? I hear the turf war gets to be epic when that happens. Just be sure and paint a few inches of the shovel handle with something sticky to keep 'em out of your armpits!

If you do not want to use poison, I've read that grits around the edge of the hill kills them if they eat it.

One of my grandpas poured kerosene on ant hills...............killed them good. Heck some gas and a match works too.........be careful!

You tried those pellets made to specifically kill ants/fire ants/insects?

Just walked in from work and the beagle went INSANE when I let him out of the kennel. ALL over me sniffing like mad. I hadn't spilled food, or pet any other animals. Finally figured out what it was. I worked in a place today that makes dog treats from chicken bits. I wasn't there but a few minutes, but I guess enough of the smell got in my clothes. They smell similar to to the pig ears we give him. He must have thought I was a giant walking dog treat.
