    Yeah, but if Ned disappears and some day we come upon a bear wearing that hat with a holster and a .327 in it, we'll know what happened. Either the Bear ate Ned or he gave the bear his hat and gun and he's still in a tree somewheres in NC.

    That HSM HP was not as tough as I thought it would be, it got through one encyclopedia and lodged under the cover of the next one;
    however, much bullet was lost in the process.

    Tried a GECO .357 158 gr FMJ------same penetration, as the bullet was found in the same place;
    but, the second book was torn all the way to the back cover and while severely damaged the bullet did seem to not shed much material..

    During the Zumwalt era that stache would be really conservative.

    Re: Ned's Shooting Thread

    Back to 1/2 gal milk jugs and .357.

    More by coincidence than by design, I ended up with some of those 158 gr I had been shooting and some
    R-P 125 gr SJHP in the Blackhawk.

    I missed with the 158 gr and when the R-P ammo came up, there was a noticeable louder bang and recoil.
    One jug flattened out and flew in the bushes and the other was well ripped up. The water in the jugs turned into a cloud
    instead of just leaking out as with the 158 gr HP.

    It is now hunting season, so, I need to wear a orange vest to go out in the forest in case I am attacked by a squirrel and need to defend myself.

    I had to try it.
    The R-P 125 gr SJHP penetrates farther in the same books as did that 158 gr HP I had been shooting.
    Bullet did break up badly.

    So Ned, if you shot a Kindle how many Virtual E books/pages will 125 and 158 grainers shoot through?

    Don't use either one to pot a squirrel for lunch unless they're too tough to chew out there.
    My thoughts are generally clear. My typing, not so much.

    It is deer season, so, carrying a .44mag--------haven't seen any deer, just forestry workers.

    They want to open up the understory near the forest edge; but, by fire------that means smoke in town.
    They control burn as needed already.
