    9mm Shield, .380 Bodyguard. That's it. Occasional carry a Ruger Speed Six and an H&K P 7, rarely a Model 19, a model 65, and very rarely a 1911.

I've got way too many guns.

Not too many problems you can't fix

XDs.45 in pocket (or sometimes 9mm Shield, in pocket). It prints, but who cares?

Glock G-20 woods gun, OWB or across the chest.

I may substitute my 4" 1911 occasionally, or a revolver, but mostly I stick to striker-fired weapons.
Yep, thanks to our conservative State Government, Printing is a thing of the past in Texas, thank God.

[QUOTE=Eli;591794]My three favorite are all Glock 9mms.

    1) Chopped (to 19 length) Gen3 Glock 17, wearing a Surefire X300u, worn @ 3:00.

    2) Gen3 Glock 34, wearing a Surefire X300u, worn @ 3:00.

    3) Gen4 Glock 19 (this is my NPE gun), worn in the appendix position.

As for the knife, I am really squeemish about knives. I can only function with one for cleaning kill and chopping Veggies. But each to his/her own.

What I have for concealed carry was all designed before it was a big deal. So, I like your choice of CC weapons and I think I love Glocks. You are one of, if not thee most experienced handgun guys on here so I feel if I follow your lead I won't go wrong. I want to upgrade my EDC and I'm thinking some flavor of Glock is the ticket. I have fairly big hands but I want a small carry gun. I would like the smallest Glock I can safely and /or comfortably carry. So can you tell me what are my choices? Of Glocks that is.

Re: What are your 3 favorite carry guns?

The smallest is their .380 G42?. Next is a single stack 9mm G43. Only 6 rounds I think. Then you move up to double stacks, all larger. I think the G23 in .40 cal is a good compromise. There are lots of used police trade ins out there, here they sell for 388.00. Eli will tell a G26 since he prefers 9mm. If I could find one cheap enough I'd get one. But it's a small gun. I think I'd rather carry the 23.

The smallest 9mm would be the 43. One size up from that would be the 26. Basically the same foot print, but the 43 is a single stack and the 26 is a double stack. T'wer it I, the 26 would definitely get the nod, simply because it can use the spare mags from it's bigger brothers. Since they are all the same platform, the 26 (which comes with a 10 round magazine) can have a 15rd, 17rd, or 33rd reload.

My 3 favourite carry guns or the three I can afford?
The Three I can afford to carry are, Ruger SR1911, RIA .TCM22/9MM HiCap and Remington R51 (CT).
The three I would love to carry would be Colt Super .38 1911, Colt Commander .45 ACP, and Colt 1911 Delta Elite 10MM.
Alas, so many guns, so few bucks.

    Snake,
The lights are nice, but a great target for a thug. Right in line with your head.

Lets think about that a minute. At what point would my weapon mounted light be in line with my head for you to aim at it?

    I'll let you ponder that.

Due to a glitch in the matrix you quoted snake and rather than Eli.

Matrix issues aside, what do you do? Hold your flashlight in one hand high above your head while crouching down aiming your gun with the other somas not to make your head a target?

Another question I have is... how often do folks with a weapon-mounted light get shot? Not shot at, but actual hits. If you're using it while moving, and not keeping it on all the time but just giving quick flashes... I'd think your chances of getting hit go down.

Now if you're doing a Hollywood building sweep with your lights constantly on, things change.

Actually some SD trainers teach this now for close quarters (arms reach) engagements. The theory is that you can fend off head blows with your light hand at your temple while you engage from a retention position.

Not sure i agree with it, but there it is.

I'm just wondering if "they'll shoot at your light" is really as common as folks say, nevermind the odd at best weapons handling needed to get your WML in line with your head.

Oh I am sure several get it. By the time one sees the light, thinks, reacts, they are already dead or incapacitated.

As short as your are, if your WML is in line with your head, the guy's gotta be on the ground, or you're holding the bore centerline over your head.

Re: What are your 3 favorite carry guns?

I don't understand the problem. As I think about it, I'm never in pitch darkness where I'd even need a light on a pistol. If I'm out and about, everywhere I go - stores, malls, restaurants, theaters, Lodge, whatever, the parking lots are always well lit at night. Visibility, and identifying a potential threat is never an issue.

At home, a judicious sprinkling of LED night lights (cheap to buy, automatically on at night, off in daytime) keeps my home darkened but never dark, lit but never bright - just enough see and know for sure what or who I might be aiming at. Same with outside. A half-dozen well-placed solar powered motion-activated LEDs means whatever went bump in the night out there will be sufficiently illuminated when I peak through the curtains.

So, who here lives in the dark - so dark that they can't see 7 or 8 yards away (pretty much the maximum distance for most lawful HD/SD shoots)? Even on a moonless and starless night on a dark, unlit street, I can see 20 feet away.
