    New acquisition!

It would be awesome if photobucket was actually working, but its not and its pissing me off. The best I can do is a link to the pic. Click below:

This is another addition to my collection. Its rough, but this make and model is extremely rare. It also looks small but its not really. It looks that way because the rear axle housing is broken and its squatting down. Its a Yamaha Tri Moto 200. A little rough right now but I'll have it in pristine condition here real soon. I also got it for a steal. Best of all is that it runs great and is mostly all there. I'm a happy camper. I have two more models of the three wheel variety to collect before I'm done.

I don't see a quick reply option on my tablet. May be due to being on a tablet? But I have tried that tree looking button with no luck.

A buddy just picked up a basket case 250 Tecate 3 wheeler. He has been looking for a 2 stroke 3 wheeler for a couple of years now.

Tecate is one that I'm still in need of for my collection. Already have these:

The one and only time that I rode a three wheeler, it promptly ran over my right foot in a turn and jerked me from the saddle! Couldn't have had anything to do with complete unfamiliarity or the beer I had processed earlier in the evening??

    Re: New acquisition!

The bad thing about buying the more rare 3 wheeler is finding parts for it. The portion that houses the rear bearings that pivots to tighten the chain and that the axle goes through is broken beyond repair. I've exhausted all my search efforts on the web. Apparently that housing is prone to breaking on a 1983 Yamaha tri moto ytm200 because they are thin aluminum. Looks like I'll be doing some measuring and lathe work if I can't find one.

Dude. Aluminum swing arms are a dime a dozen. Pick one up an hack the bits you need out jig them up and pay to have them welded on.

    Re: New acquisition!

Not a swing arm. This has solid rear, no suspension. The adjustable tube that houses the axle bearings, which bolts to the frame is shattered and gone. I'm a damn good mig welder and my Hobart says so. Its not that simple. Ima have to turn one on the lathe (out of steel) and make and weld flanges to it that bolt to the frame. I'm game.

    Ah. I see.

I had a solid suspension three wheeler. A Manco with a 10hp B&S. Just a torque converter for locomotion.
