    Lonely decoy

    Backyard pic.
The closest thing to a turkey I saw. I had 5-7 deer within 30 yards, one just to the other side of the decoy, then she was behind the blind, snorting.

Keep at it. For the record, I absolutely HATE how late PA starts their season. In Nebraska, we can sling arrows at them with snow still on the ground and by mid April, the shotgun blasts start.

All said, I'll hopefully be with you in spirit in 2A next Saturday, time permitting.

Calling in a area where I have seen birds almost every AM. Had 1 gobble back from WAAAAAAAY out.

Had the 20ga with 5 shot. I patterned it at 30 and if a bird gets through that, he should be allowed to live. No shot where the blind is that is worth taking at over 25 anyway.

Need some movement in the decoy..................

I guess the possibility of getting shot in the face at any moment is exciting...........

Illegal in PA, for all of the obvious reasons.

I need movement in the jakes and gobblers, the plastic sex toy is just fine like she is.

As an aside, I saw the neighbor today and told him his gobbler and 2 hens he keeps didnt do me any good at all. He is huge, he said he was going to cook him, I said you are gonna need a spit, they dont make ovens that big.

Weather was to hot this spring. I saw boys strutting and chasing girls a month ago. Its to warm now and they may be running dry.

Yeah, I can imagine. Similar to here in Ohio. It's been tough to find them willing to talk much after they come off of the tree, and even harder to find one that isn't already henned up.
