Some light reading if you have time.

Both of the below links are to published papers that give an excellent examination of ISIS. It is the stuff that is not being told in the news and show you exactly how they view themselves as opposed to how the West views them. They truly are a Caliphate, and our failure to recognize that is why we are not winning.

    Thank you for posting.

At this point it doesn't matter if the state of our existence on Earth with the Muslim community/culture is our fault or theirs. It is what it is now.

And if we want to stop what it is, we must SAY what it is. It doesn't matter how we arrived here anymore. The milk is spilled. It's spoiled. We have to clean it up.

Kinda disagree, it does matter how we got there. That is half the reason we are where are. We completely ignored all the key things that make that region stay in any sort of stable state: Tribes, alliances, and ethnicities. All of the Baathist we back out of Bucca rallied to the ISIS flag because that was a major Baathist goal. We put a ethnic minority faction into power in the only country where it is a majority. We enabled them to disenfranchise the minority of the country that is a majority in the rest of the region. We can't keep thinking we can apply Western solutions to Pan-Arab problems. We have to bring in the Arab leaders to develop the solution, and allow Iran a seat. It won't be easy. But since the French and Brits screwed up the region with their lines, that is the only way it is going to be done. We keep ignoring how we got to where we are at and then repeat the same mistakes. And it is costing us dearly. ISIS IS GAINING INFLUENCE. They have even spread to the Caucasian Emerites, there is no reason ISIS should have taken root there. None.

Re: Some light reading if you have time.

It is a known fact that westerners suck at understanding Middle Eastern or any other eastern cultures. We cannot solve their problems for them, and their own solutions mostly involve annihilating the opposition.

We can't even just leave them alone, now, because they will seek us out whenever they are strong enough. Either the reasonable Muslims (the ones who are willing to coexist) have to wipe out the crazies, or the status quo will persist in perpetuity, with the same ebb and flow it has had since medieval times.
