Some times I want to choke this guy, but every once in a while I love him.

This RINO SOB can make me so mad I could bite a rail road spike in two. But every once in a while he comes across as a patriot. Lindsey Graham can be something else on occasion, one of the things he can be is a RINO. But not tonight after Trumps talk to the Nation about Afghanistan he made a speech that made me a bit proud. He just made a speech where he backed our president 100%. He even got me to laughing. He said President Trump listened to his Generals and is going back into Afghanistan to win. He said General Obama was a terrible General and General Paul sucked too. But PRESIDENT Trump listened to his generals which was the sensible intelligent thing to do. I agree with him. He also went on to second Trump by saying this is NOT Nation Building. This was killing terrorists, not pulling troops out of a place where terrorism would fester. I know we've been there 16 years which does suck, but it's time we stuck to what we were doing and we're going to win.

I'm listening to Libtard Juan Williams bad mouthing Trump because he had said before the election that he wanted to get the troops out of Afghanistan. Hopefully that's what this will do. And it won't leave a safe haven for terrorists to congregate and make designs on how they will attack us next.

I guess I've started a poo storm now. What do y'all think? Remember keep it Civil. Hehehehehehehe!!!

Listening to the generals - the ones who are supposed to know how to wage war - is at least a novel approach!

Trump and the RNC will get back in bed and everything will be wonderful.

Sounds like a foreign policy of big business. Maybe it will work, I don't know.

It's nice to have someone whose been there and done that, rather than an armchair warrior.
Political correctness is a liberal degrading of the freedom of speech. George Orwell's 1984 famously incorporated the notion of limiting thought through language (see Newspeak)." Meanwhile, the beatings will continue until morale improves around here.

Trump goes back and forth between various people but it's usually just for feely good crap. When he's serious nobody is really going to change his mind once he's listened to advice and formed an opinion. I don't care how crazy he sounds, when it comes to making a decision he's pretty non whimsical. I think the only one you'll catch him in bed with is Melania.

Obama never tried it because he was supplying and supporting ISIS and the Taliban with arms and money through Syria and a couple of other 'middleman' nations.

Lindsay Graham has always been a massive hawk. This is not remotely surprising. There's never been a war or military action he didn't love.

Lindseed Grahamnesty and McCain are massive Neocons too. They will always stand up, clap and bark like seals whenever increasing a war effort is described.

Re: Some times I want to choke this guy, but every once in a while I love him.

Well Gentlemen, I don't know where to start. I read the text of Trump's speech when I came out of the mountains, and it gave mixed emotions. There are things he addressed that I do believe are correct. We can't nation build in Afghanistan (or in general) and we pulled out of Iraq way to soon. The people of Afghanistan don't care about a nation or central government. They care about surviving and they don't care who it is that enables them to do the that. They will not roll over on the Taliban, AQ, or ISIS-K. They wont roll over on them because they know those groups will endure and be there to help them survive after we leave. Just the same way the vietnamese stopped giving up VC. It does not matter how many troops we throw at Afghanistan, there is no Win. The only thing we can do is kill some more HVTs and leave.

We can't even tell for a 100% who is and is not the bad guys. We have had Battalion Commanders unknowingly take pictures at a market with local Taliban leaders. When the locals see this, the locals know which way the tide has turned.

But, it does sound like he is listening to the commanders on the ground. He has called out Pakistan and they way they have helped the enemy. That has plagued us along the border provinces since 02. It is true that in a situation like this, your phase lines have to be condition driven and not time driven. But, even still, we will not come away will a win.

The second order effect of this new campaign effort is we can't do this with our current readiness levels, troop strength, or maintenance and it will require a reinvestment in the military. This will be unpopular for many. As it stands now, our troop levels are below those of 1994. If you remember, 1994 the end of the force shaping the Clinton Administration started in 1992. In 1994 we had no threats on the board. It would not be until 1995 that we helped with Bosnia.

I think in the end we will be okay. Mattis and McMasters are really smart guys. The only one missing from the team General P. All three understand the world as it is, and not how America wants to see it. So, they know when to come with the carrot and when to come with the stick.

THIS. This is why it is IMHO a total waste of money to do anything more than to go blast the terrorists when they get out of hand, and then withdraw completely until the next time.

Jeeper I agree with you, and I guess we'll have to see how Mattis and MacMasters play it.

Good write up as usual centermass.
