    Car Service mishap😞

At some point, those roles could reverse. Mostly what's keeping us here are aging parents with health issues and We are their only support system. Unfortunately, our exit plan now is either their passing or other unpredictable circumstances.

Right now, sounds like you are staying put for you. And there is nothing wrong with that.

I am, but I don't know anything other than here and I'm afraid to leave. If things were different with our careers I would be ready to move on, but for now this will remain home. I'm not liking being all grown up at all!

You have to get older, you dont have to grow up all the way.
It's boring, and your lack of creativity knows no bounds.

Yep. Getting old is mandatory, Growing up is optional............... Or as my 93 yr old uncle told me a couple of months ago when I asked him the secret to his longevity, " Do something stupid at least once a day, that way you feel like a teenager".............
Still enjoying the trip of a lifetime and making the best of what I have.....

If that's the secret, then I should live forever!

They needed registration and insurance cards for some reason Zorba. I'm really not sure why. Now I am just glad they didn't go into my glove box.... that would have been embarrassing lol

Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional.
And if someone makes the crass statement that you should act your age, tell them that you've never been this age before and you're just winging it. If they persist, then tell them to "Stuff it!"

Those type of laws are draconian. I got searched voluntarily by the Colorado game wardens once. The saw the pistol case in my front seat and couldn't have cared less. That's how it should be.
My thoughts are generally clear. My typing, not so much.

You know, everybody has to make their own choices and set their own priorities...

With that said, it was QUITE the decision for me to leave commiefornia because of my job situation. I now wish I'd left years earlier. It isn't so much because of the unethical laws, blah, blah, blah... Its the ATTITUDE. The Socialist-Liberal Nanny-State attitude and the residents of my former state who promulgate that crap and think its a good thing (tm).

So I'll say it again to SIGgal - get out NOW. Before you get sent to the figurative gas chamber. You'll breathe a lot easier...

Exactly how it should be, but this is New Jersey. I worked in Law Enforcement in Florida and New Jersey, and there is such a stark contrast between LEO'S in these two states and how they feel about firearms. In New Jersey it is a paranoia if nothing else. Nobody should have firearms other than the police is the general opinion here, where any other state it is a non issue.

Pretty much every LEO I met from NJ had that attitude which was frankly frightening. Even in CT my LE interactions were MUCH more plesant with the single State Trooper I met personally eagerly opening the trunk of his cruiser to show me his very cool toys. As soon as he found out I was a firearms enthusiast his attitude actually changed for the better! In New York, the second you leave NYC (and more recently LI, Rockland and Westchester CT) the LEO community changes drastically from Storm Troopers to way more akin to what the rest of the country enjoys.

I was in our gas chamber, and it had such a psychological impact that it was difficult to breathe. :) This is a lethal gas execution installation, just for clarification.

Make sure you make plenty of time for your family while you can. Not a day goes by that I wish I could talk to my mother, father, stepfather or brother, all in the ground for years. Good luck with whatever decision you make...but AZ has lots of room. Just sayin'.
