    Funny, how you never hear any stories of Daniel Boone or Kit Carson running afoul of Widow Makers,

    Thats because they looked up before they went to sleep and moved if they were under one. We wander around in a protected sphere where the simple common sense has to be taught over and over again.

    Congratulations early. Any venison flavored with black powder is worth all of the trouble you experienced. I had a friend at a permanent deer camp have a similar experience. He had slept in with a hangover and as he was sitting in the camp out house, he had thoughtfully brought his .357 pistol.. An exceptional 8 point buck came moseying through camp and he dropped it at about 10 yards. Keep yer powder dry..........robin
