    Colt police positive special

One more treasure from my dad's collection that came home with me last week.
I remember salavating over this revolver as a very young child, long before I was old enough to experience it.
Made in 1923 per the S/N and chambered in 32-20 WCF

Nice. I have the same one, but it was re-blued (and not well) and has the original Colt grips. It resides at my dad's house...his 44 mag was a bit much for everyday home defense in his mind...wanted something a bit smaller. The 44 is now in the nightstand, not on it.

That's actually getting to be hands on history right there.

Thanks. I found the original grips as well while cleaning out my dads study.
I suspect I'll keep it just the way he did though.

Very nice!! 32-20 is a fun gun and pleasant to shoot. I have a New Army/Navy model in 32-20. It later morphed into the police positive.

Slick looking pistol. I've always questioned the sanity of the way they built them with the ejector rod hanging out like that. It screams "BEND ME!"

You ever imagine a story behind it? If so, call it gospel.

Very cool piece by the way. I mean like Steve McQueen cool!

Hard to believe the condition of that gun being so good after all of these years. Again, your old man had fine taste in firearms.

Here's the Colt and the Smith. Not as nice as yours, but fun shooters, and original!! If you are going to reload, I use 3.5 grains of Unique and a 100 grain cast slug. It's a nice mild load for the old timers!

It looks like it "might" be only 10 years old or so - beautiful condition!

For quite a few years I had a large frame version of that gun in .41 Long Colt. I now resides with a much more appreciative collector in the UK...

You know it! That thing is beautiful, and I'm not that much of a Pistol appreciator. But I appreciate that one.
