    New Ruger

    2017-09-24 18.04.52.jpg

Today the wife went to the new Gun Show with me. They had the usual overpriced new guns and a few used to go with the trinkets, knives and beef jerky. Checked this gun out and later found myself checking it out again. Man took the zip tie off and the wife said I smiled when I pulled the trigger. She told the man to give me the paperwork. Little while later we left with my first .45 Colt

    Nicely done!

If one were to look in my gun safe, it would be immediately obvious that I have a thing for Ruger in .45 Colt.....

The brushed stainless looks really nice!

I have 45 Colt ammo mild enough for plinking and hot enough for dangerous game.

Very nice! I have been recently re-finding my love of single action revolvers and have only recently come to own a 45 Colt.
    Congrats on a sweet find.

    Re: New Ruger

Though I have the least experience with it as compared to my other revolver cartridges, I would probably say the .45 Colt is my favorite.

    Well done.

This gun had a prior owner, selling point was very low round count, spring kit and of course the price

That's a sweet lookin' hog leg there Bro! And you have a bonus with that, you have a great lady there too! Not only does she go to the Gun Shows with you, she actually tells you to buy a gun. You cannot no way beat that!!!

The LGS where I picked up my rifle Saturday had a couple .45 Colt Vaqueros in the candy case. Told my wife, if you want me to sit on Santa's lap I will...or you can just tell him that this is what I want for Christmas.

    Too subtle??

I guess it is all about what you would use it for------the Blackhawk is generally much stronger allowing much hotter loads.

    Re: New Ruger

Nice .45! Got the same configuration but in .357. Love those grips and the 4.75" barrel.

Last week a friend of mine was shooting his New Vaquero with "practice" .45 Colt loads and allowed me to try a few rounds; they were a delight to use....barely above a .38 Special! As other say, reloading will become a "must" now.

If I properly recall, there are even spare .45ACP cylinders that you can fit in this frame using moonclips to hold the rounds in place...not cheap but maybe another good option (Usually available on eBay)
