    So...on the radio today..,

I heard that " The security guard that was killed at Mandalay Bay had been released from the hospital and was recovering at home...."

Playin' possum, was he? 30 days restriction, 30 days extra duty, 30 days forfeiture of pay, and reduced in pay grade by one grade! And don't let it happen again!

I walked out of the ER one time from a wreck at the track before they admitted me. Ambulance ride in and all. Was going to be "at least another hour" before they would be able to see me.

Next week I showed up at the track and the folks at the gate looked like they saw a ghost. There was no record of me at the hospital, so assumed I had passed and the hospital "lost" the paper work.

Needless to say, no one came near me on the track that night...

Something similar happened to me when I went to sign up for the 10 year HS reunion. Had to do the signup in person. My nemesis with the same name but different first name spelling had been killed in a car wreck the week before I went in to sign up, and I'd not heard of his death. He was Michael, and I'm Mikel, and we had same last name; pronounced the same, just spelled different. Anyway, he got into counterfeiting at the same time I went into the Navy. I got to cool my heels in the brig for a couple of weeks in Key West while the FBI sorted it out. Anyway, I walked in to sign up, and one of the gals that was doing the signup was one I'd dated my junior year. She'd seen the obit, and when I walked in, she stood up and promptly fainted. Hilarity ensued! The other gal and the two guys looked like they'd seen a ghost!
