    My best buck ever

Was on my stand yesterday afternoon watching a few younger immature bucks when a wide 8pt with 3" tines came into the food plot. Ugly rack as he needs a few more years to get some mass and taller tines. He kept looking over his shoulder and this 12 pt walked out. At 185 yards I thought he was a nice 8pt with tall G2's and really nice brow tines. I raised the .243 win put the cross hairs on just behind his front shoulder, held two inches high of my POI and squeezed the trigger. He stumbled, ran 10 yards and piled up face first. He hit so hard he broke his front jaw. My shot was dead on and hit two inches below my point of aim.

I was shocked when I got to him. He was a 12pt with a few small drop tines off his main beam and G1's. My local game biologist stopped by and scored him just at 130. Folks that's the best buck I've ever taken.

Better hang that rack where you can see it.

Well done Jeff, congratulations ! The .243 is my favorite caliber, (I have two and a 6mm), they kill much better than you would expect of such a small bullet. One of mine has harvested 36 deer and a couple of hogs. I load 100 grain Nosler Partitions over stiff loads of H1000 in all three guns. Keep yer powder dry............robin

Used my custom Tikka .243 Win with an Fed Premium factory ammo with 85 gr trophy bond copper bullet with my Leupold 1x6 scope on top. I set the scope to 4X when I got on stand in the morning and never adjusted it back to 6X for the afternoon hunt.
    Shot was 185 yards.
Pass through what you're seeing is the exit hole
Internal damage was massive, lungs were torn up bad, clipped the heart

    Going with a shoulder mount

He ran 10 yards and went down hard enough to break his jaw and pull the skin off the bottom of his jaw.

    We call those “kicker points”.

“Drop Timesl” form from the upper portion of the main beam and project downwards in a “drop” that points.......down.
