Gleaned another pocket pistol. Star M-43

I picked up another Wonder-nine, M-43 Starfire . This latest one is one of those that sat around doing nothing for the last twenty-some years. It also has the Starvel electroless, nickle coating. These little guns are sweet, compact shooters. There are no signs of handling marks on this pistol. I doubt it had ever been fired, except for maybe at the factory. Too bad it's missing its original box and magazines.

It's kinda difficult to gauge its size, so I laid it on top of a S&W 4586 for scale.

To disassemble, clear the weapon, drop the hammer, remove the mag, align the index lines at the rear of the slide & frame, then push/remove slide release button. The slide is then pulled forward for removal.

Ive never shot one. It looks solid (all steel).
My thoughts are generally clear. My typing, not so much.

Had 1 many years ago. Unfortunately I sold it off. They are solid little pistols and shoot nicely.

I have a Star in 40S&W, stout little pistol and a pretty decent shooter. It is however somewhat picky about it's diet preferring factory ammo.

My roommate 30 years ago had one of those. I recall it as a sweet little tank of a shooter, and planned to pick one up.

I waited too long and Interarms closed up on me, so...

Had one many years ago, excellent solid little pistol, HEAVY bugger, but rock solid.
