    NZ Hunting

Thought I'd post this link from out Department of Conservation re what to Hunt etc in New Zealand as a matter of interest.
This link is Public land hunting, there is heaps more hunting on privately owned land of course, the permits they talk about are free.
Simplified ,Only the Balloted area's are restricted and that is only at certain times of the year, bugle, rut etc. the rest of the year is open and free.
Game bird hunting requires a 100$ permeit.

Dang, I'm really tempted. I'm close to sending a deposit for Africa...but ...so tempting.
