    First scouting for spring trapping

Went out with the son today looking for sign. The ice is almost out from an early spring.

Cool otter tracks and we found the den.
He is likely toast by next weekend.

I thought this just looked cool.

The question isn't who is going to let me; it's who is going to stop me.

I'm jealous of that snow and cool weather, stupidly hot and humid here, can't wait to see your catch too, is your son still doing the sweet hats?

Can you trap a wolf this year?

Yes, he’s still making hats and other garments. He doesn’t live with me, so I have to troll his Etsy page to view his work.

Yes, but there’s no money in it. Wolf hides go for less than coyote and are way harder to catch.

Yes, but since you can catch one, please do, and kick him in the puppy store so that his cousins in MN will feel it.

We kill them whenever given the opportunity. Legal hunting and trapping is not reducing the population.
