Thread: Posting Pictures

    Posting Pictures

There are three ways to post pictures now.

There is the oldschool way of using the IMG tags:
Make sure the image is on the web somewhere (Picassa, Photobucket, etc...)
Left Click, and get the URL of the image directly:
    menu.jpg
Then paste the URL between the image tags:
    withtags.jpg

    And post it.

    Newer Way:
get the URL of the image as above.
Click the Add a Picture Link:
    add.jpg

In the window that pops up, click on the "From URL" tab.
    fromurl.jpg

Paste in the URL, and uncheck the box. Don't ask why, just do it.
Hit OK. You will notice that it basically did the hard work of adding the IMG tags to the URL for you.
    yay.jpg

Hold on, I can only upload 5 images per post. Let me see if I can add more to a reply.

    Re: Posting Pictures

Now, after getting your URL with IMG tags, you can click the WYSIWYG editor:
    toggle.jpg

And you can see your pic in the post as you create/ edit. Kinda Cool.

    3rd and totally newfangled way:

Click the Add Image button as above. This time click the "From Computer" tab in the dialog box:
    Upload.jpg
Click "Select Files" and upload off of your drive.

Now, here is the neat part. Double click on the image you just uploaded.
You can specify the size, location, and tag your uploaded photo:
    image settings.jpg

    Now, y'all have fun.

Another vote for sticky, at least for a few weeks/months until everyone gets a chance to see it.

Wake me up when I can cut and paste directly from my desktop. Till then, I'll stick with the thousand words = one picture exchange rate.

Not working for me, I can't double click anything after upload.
Must still be a difference between IE 8 & 9
I'm going to log out and see if Clean's computer will do it.

Hey bullsi, I agree with these guys. I logged on early this morning and it was almost off the page. After all the great work you put into this one it'd be a shame for it to fall of the first page before folks can see it so I stuck it for you. Hope you don't mind.

    Thanks Bullsi

As you know, I don't have any trouble posting pics, but now then, instead of typing out a long reply, I can just point people to this thread when they ask

That was my thought. I'd have this url saved, and copy and paste it into threads when the question pops up.

I assumed that was the case. Too good to not put on the fridge door for a hile.

    Re: Posting Pictures

I miss the old copy and paste method that used to work with the old forum. I couldn't copy from the photo album on my computer but I could from pics I have on Facebook. That was easy. Being able to do it from my desktop would definately be the easiest if there's any way to make it happen.

Your avatar should be done through settings. Top right of the page if I remember right. You will have to upload it.

Thanks. I didn't know what Avatar meant.
So now that I have the expert's attention; how do I check for replies to my posts without trying to remember where they all are and scrolling through everything looking for replies. Thanks in advance.

    Re: Posting Pictures

Can someone educate me on posting pics from my phone. It's supposed to be a smart phone but sometimes Im not so sure. Do I have to load them from phone to computer first or can I add a pic to my post directly from the phone while on the forum with it?

Get an app called Tapatalk. It cost like 3 bucks but is worth it. You can upload right from the app off your camera library, or you can even snap a pic to post right there on the spot. Just push the phone button from the app like so uploadfromtaptalk1372611548612.jpg

Replying from my phone now. I have tapatalk but it isn't showing that line of 5 keys in your pic- submit, discard, camera icon, link, smiley. Maybe my tapatalk isn't working right. I'll have to try getting the app again.

Try again, since that was only a thumbnail. Like to post bigger pics.

Inserting in line makes it show up easier to see. Here is what it looks like from my phone. Just hit the inline button after you upload your image.
