With my camera!!! I had to crawl around in my best urban camo but they never saw me and it was quite exciting!!!
The boys were doing their dance for the girl and she was making them work for it!!!

You're lucky they didn't see you. They look pretty amorous. One wrong move and you may have been molested by an adventerous Tom!

Nice pics. Was there much gobbling or drumming involved in the courtship you witnessed?

    Great pictures!

Sounds like you enjoyed the "stalk".

Gun or camera, it's still exciting.

    Thanks for sharing.

Quite a bit of gobbling juat a little drumming. It was pretty obvious that there was one dominant tom keeping the other at bay.

Yes is it! Your heart still pumps just as hard. Pretty cool!

Glad you guys liked the pictures, it was a hoot taking them. I probably took about 100+ pictures of these guys.

Excellent photos! I was just curious about how close you were so pried into the Metadata. The Exif-info shows that you used a Nikon D90 and a 300mm lens.

From the background (rock wall & concrete curb) just curious, was this in your back yard? How close were they?
There's no such thing as having too much ammo, unless you're on fire or trying to swim!

Congrats and thanks for sharing. There are few things in nature as beautiful as watching the Tom Turkeys do their dance in hopes of seducing the hen, LOL!!! Seriously, it is truly amazing to watch.

    BTW, nice Photography.
    Daddy, what's an enabler?
Son that's somebody with nothing to do with his time but keep me in trouble with mom.

Yes it was right in my back yard! Like I said I used the best urban camo I could wear (sweats ). I used rock walls, shrubs and cars for concealment. These particular three shots were about 40' away maybe a hair farther. Camera is a Nikon D90 with a Nikkor 70-300mm 1:4.5-5.6 G with VR. I wanted to concentrate on shooting so I set the camera on AUTO and started snapping away since it was overcast and heavy shadows were not an issue.

    Here are a couple more:
