    NFL comment thread, Nov 11

Talk about your fave team or game here.

Texans def. Bears 13-6, where both teams brought a 7-1 record to the game.

Talk about tough? These 2 teams fought with everything they had, in a full, cold, driving rain. Nobody dominated, really. Bears gave up 4 turnovers in the first half which kept them hampered. On the other part, the Bears stuck the Texans deep into their own end with good punts. Thing is, neither team folded, buckled or gave up. Texans simply were a bit better than Da Bearz tonight.

Soldiers Field held up surprisingly well in the constant rain, no real mud patches and footing seemed acceptable. The Field is of course one of the oldest in the NFL and a great historic stadium.

Bears fans were wonderful -- loud, enthusiastic, wet, but they stayed the course and supported their team, something not many NFL fan bases can attest to. A tip of the cap to them for their great loyalty.

On other news, Atlanta finally lost, so there are now no undefeated NFL teams, only 3 with 1-loss records.

I was busy today and didn't get to see much of the other games, so please add your comments on the Texans-Bears or other games.

Was there a Redskins game yesterday? I didn't notice...

YUP! Texans won!! I'm a fan of any team that beats Da Bears!! The Cowpies flopped one on the Smeagles, can't stand Reid, Vick, etc!! To bad they knocked Vick out of the game early, I was hoping to see his face in the dirt all day! The Nyets, another team I can't stand, continues to underwhelm. Colts beat the Giants, sort of a surprise.
Packers had the day off, hopefully they can recover some of the key players from injuries, but they play Detroit next, and they have also been on the skids, lately. To one dimentional, not as many weapons as the Pack.

Not that it matters, at least not to me, but it was the Bengals who beat the Giants, not the Colts. The Colts beat Jacksonville.

As for the Cowboys/Eagles game, the 'boys did everything they could to give the game away. The Eagles just wouldn't have it, though, and insisted that it was the Cowboys turn to win.

Foregone conclusion tonight as the Steelers play the Chiefs. Chiefs have been known for upsets but I don't think that outcome is in the offing. Steelers are just too good.

Jamaal Charles scares the snot out of me. Thanks that he is on a technically outmatched team though.

Turns out, of course, the Steelers nearly lost. And Roeth. is out for at least 2-3 games when the Steelers have the Ravens on their calendar. Not fun.

Chiefs as usual played awful, with a few shining individual stars and hot plays to keep the game in balance. I mean, if not for that final intercept, the Chiefs could have easily kicked a winning field goal in OT.

Steelers need to do some major game prep and get their act together, with 2 of their next 3 games against the Ravens and Roeth. likely sidelined. Whew.
