Veterans Day Parade (pics)

Saturday Dad came over and we (Dad, Wife and I) went to our town's Veterans Day Parade. Had a great time. This year's theme was a salute to Cold War veterans, which Dad is, having served in the Navy during Korea, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and Viet Nam.

Here are some pics; they had lots of military vehicles, our local bagpipe & drum corps, and a huge contingent of JROTC from the local high school.

They even had a B25 front end from the Smithsonian!


A splendid time was had by all!

Several chapters of Rolling Thunder attended as well, and some of their rides were unique. Even the dogs got into the spirit of the day! (Look closely at the sidecar)


This guy and his son came in a baja rail like the kind I always said I'd build, but his had a V8 instead of a built VW engine.


We had a platoon of WWII re-enactors.


Did I mention pipes?


And a dozen or so Honor Guards from PD, Sheriff's Dept, various military branches. Every time one passed, Dad would square up and render a salute. This is the local Knights of Columbus, of which Dad is a member in his local council.
