Indeed, there are those among my (legions of) detractors who collectively assert that I've been out of touch for decades, if not generations! But I digress. Heading up to the NJ pine barrens to do some 4-wheeling for a couple of days with like-minded delinquents all driving 4Runners. Scared half to death. My truck has Yokohama Geolander H/T-S tires on it; these are plain Jane street tires, not even all-terrains. If I hit any deep mud, my truck's going to turn into a submarine! I've multiple tow hooks front and rear, and I just bought a tow strap with steel hooks on both ends, but I feel under-equipped, nonetheless.
I've learned that Toyota's marketing scheme is identical to Harley-Davidson's, to wit: your truck will never ever ever be exactly the way you want it. There will always be (at least) one more thing that your truck "needs," at prices that would make strong men weep. Cynical bastards.
Along about Monday morning I'm leaving NJ and schlepping across PA to spend T'Day with relatives in Pittsburgh. I've been promised a little turkey hunting on private land, meaning I don't have to buy a PA hunting licence, thereby saving around $120. Prolly be home a week from this coming Monday, but in the meantime I'll be w/o computer or cell phone.
Having a great and Happy Thanksgiving, good people! Later
