What Would You Do?

First i want to say I'm not trying to start an argument or promote fear but I would like to get some opinions on the confiscation of firearms. I do not see it coming to this, but then again the current administration has done a bunch of things that i never thought I'd see. What would you do? If somehow firearms of any type must be turned in how would you handle it? I think about this often and I'm not really sure how i would handle people at my door demanding my firearms.

I also thought about the need of an organization of like minded gun enthusiast that if the need ever came would be organized and assembled and stop confiscation.

What are your guy's thoughts?

It would be against forum rules to say anything other than " turn them in".

I ain't seen nothin', ain't heard nothin', don't know nothin', and truth to tell, I don't even suspect nothin'. What kind of contraptions are these 'firearms' of which you speak? You got me confounded.

I sold mine to a guy named Abdul Hussein Mctavish.

He really wanted them but didnt want to pay what they were worth. Must have been the mix of Middle Eastern and Scottish blood.

I'd tell about the local experience.

For proper confiscation, first there has to be a gun registration, or at least some kind of document that can relate you with a given firearm. Otherwise, it would mean a police-state action with undercover surveillance, payed or forced informants (Soviet-style; pick up anyone in the street and force him to give any name from any alleged gun owner he knows or else), spying, electronic surveillance, etc. etc. Usually too expensive to be worthwhile, but you know that bureaucrats LOVE spending money.

Here you have to register your guns to be allowed to use them, sell them, buy ammo, etc. so
finding a law-abiding gun owner whose property has suddenly become a legal "no-no" isn't hard at all. Usually you'll get it confiscated (Happened with 9mm pistols a few years ago, didn't work and now they're up to it again) while getting new licenses for other guns, that won't be issued 'till you surrender the one they're looking for. also you'll get a citation to surrender it or you'll be prosecuted for illegal gun ownership, and since you're part of the system by have a name, address, job, car lease, credit cards, home, kids in school, etc. etc. usually the letter is scarier enough to surrender your weapon (Rather than facing jail or a lengthy, costly trial).

I've chosen CPJ's way when the time to surrender my registered 9mm pistols (A P-08 and a P-38) come; boats are prompt to overturn you see, specially over deep, deep waters. The others (All C&Rs) will stay stored until further notice.

This is all I have. I doubt they'd bother confiscating it.

    The question should read,
"Would you rather be a gun-less citizen or a gun-less political prisoner?"

when the time comes, you might succeed in hiding one or two, and maybe a mag full of ammo for each, but that's about it.

but if they even THINK you have five guns, they're not leaving without five guns.

I panicked when this all came up the last time and sold them all at a gun show, except for one double barrel shotgun. Then, I donated the proceeds to the Brady Bunch, to help them disarm the rest of the legal gun owners. I put up "Gun-Free Zone" signs on my outside doors, so any intruder would be bound by law to fight me with a knife or a baseball bat (I know - this was a bit dishonest of me, since I kept the double barrel, but it gives me an edge, and so far it's still legal to lie). Also, I plan to get a little ankle-biter dog to give me enough early warning so I can call 911 and crawl under the bed. My wife's responsibility will be to go up on the balcony and fire the shotgun up in the air, towards town, then perform a tactical reload and run back downstairs to shoot through the doors at any sound she thinks she hears. She's very brave, so this could actually save me.

I can only hope that when Homeland Security comes for the double barrel, 'Plugs' will have issued an alternate self-defense plan, so all of us ex-Bitter Clingers will have something to believe in.

These comments made my sides hurt :D To be perfectly honest, if an armed team shows up at o dark thirty demanding my guns... well those boys are better trained, better armed, and have more numbers than me. I have no plan of yelling Molon Labe and dying in my door way thanks. Now that's not to say I'd just roll over either but at that moment I'd play along.

Very similar to gus if I understand correctly, darn made me lose count. Guess I should have picked a simpler pattern for my cross-stitch.
