What Would You Do?
First i want to say I'm not trying to start an argument or promote fear but I would like to get some opinions on the confiscation of firearms. I do not see it coming to this, but then again the current administration has done a bunch of things that i never thought I'd see. What would you do? If somehow firearms of any type must be turned in how would you handle it? I think about this often and I'm not really sure how i would handle people at my door demanding my firearms.
I also thought about the need of an organization of like minded gun enthusiast that if the need ever came would be organized and assembled and stop confiscation.
What are your guy's thoughts?

He really wanted them but didnt want to pay what they were worth. Must have been the mix of Middle Eastern and Scottish blood.
For proper confiscation, first there has to be a gun registration, or at least some kind of document that can relate you with a given firearm. Otherwise, it would mean a police-state action with undercover surveillance, payed or forced informants (Soviet-style; pick up anyone in the street and force him to give any name from any alleged gun owner he knows or else), spying, electronic surveillance, etc. etc. Usually too expensive to be worthwhile, but you know that bureaucrats LOVE spending money.
Here you have to register your guns to be allowed to use them, sell them, buy ammo, etc. so
finding a law-abiding gun owner whose property has suddenly become a legal "no-no" isn't hard at all. Usually you'll get it confiscated (Happened with 9mm pistols a few years ago, didn't work and now they're up to it again) while getting new licenses for other guns, that won't be issued 'till you surrender the one they're looking for. also you'll get a citation to surrender it or you'll be prosecuted for illegal gun ownership, and since you're part of the system by have a name, address, job, car lease, credit cards, home, kids in school, etc. etc. usually the letter is scarier enough to surrender your weapon (Rather than facing jail or a lengthy, costly trial).
I've chosen CPJ's way when the time to surrender my registered 9mm pistols (A P-08 and a P-38) come; boats are prompt to overturn you see, specially over deep, deep waters. The others (All C&Rs) will stay stored until further notice.

"Would you rather be a gun-less citizen or a gun-less political prisoner?"
when the time comes, you might succeed in hiding one or two, and maybe a mag full of ammo for each, but that's about it.
but if they even THINK you have five guns, they're not leaving without five guns.
You are one of them.
I can only hope that when Homeland Security comes for the double barrel, 'Plugs' will have issued an alternate self-defense plan, so all of us ex-Bitter Clingers will have something to believe in.
